So did Slice ever specify what his latest "!!!!!!!!" was about, beyond saying he got more info from his source? Any details?

It is just hard for me to believe that Gruden would be happy with the money that UT is offering for him but not take the job because he cant get the "perfect" staff to coach with him.

Not necessarily. The assistant coaches and team performance all reflect on the head coach and how he is performing at his job. So it is very understandable that he wants people he trusts and thinks will do a good job on his staff..

We've not hired anyone else yet, but I do feel that after Wednesday of next week, if he's not hired by then, we will probably move down a different path. This is Gruden's job to turn down.

Maybe but you dont interview Golden with the intent of him being our next coach. Hart cant be that dumb. If he hires Golden then his sabotage of UT athletics would be close to complete. Golden has zero chance of being our next HC.

I never said Golden. I said other interviews. I don't care who you're negotiating with you have to have contingencies. Gruden is not the only coach out there. You can get a lot of coaches with the money being tossed about. The numbers would rival several NFL staffs.

I completely agree with this. And I must admit....the whole $4.9million not being enough for his assistants kind of stumped me. Not every coach on his staff has to be a top shelf NFL assistant to win in college.

If Gruden is so unsure that his wife is forcing it, and unsure about recruiting and the college gae, and the other stuff reported, then I am a tad uncomfortable. I want him at UT as much as anyone, but I dont want him there unless he's all in and ready for the job and genuinely wants it(which I thought he did) Not sure I want a coach who takes the job reluctantly (if the guy who has link to Lamonte in LA post was true)

Idgaf just leave. The recruiting stories have taken me from dislike to downright loathing. He hurt the program immensely, and I have been called every name in the book for pointing it out all season. I know people on staffs he used to be on. It's well known.

Dooley defenders now see. Hate to say I told ya so but......

If Al Golden is our coach next season, I will have to take a hiatus from UT Football, until the mistake is corrected.

This was my thought when I read the statement. Needs to be his decision for ultimate success.
