Official Jon Gruden Thread XII

The sheep quote him ALL the time. It's really not that hard to see stuff he says. Like I said I'm not gonna bash the guy because I don't know him. But too just blindly follow what someone says with no proof seems a bit ridiculous to me.

Have you read all the threads? Report back when done.

Something else to think about. Not sure if it should concern you or make you feel better. If Hart had done any interviews don't you think a name or two would definitely leaked out by now. Whether by the AD dept. or someone related to the interviewee. For the amount of time we have been without a coach it either means we have a deal ready to go or our AD sucks. I am HOPING he has not waited this long to begin a coaching search.

If he did, it gives credence to the reports that Hart was doing everything in hispower to get another year for Dooley. And if so, shame on him. He should have seen that the odds of Dooley getting it done were terrible and should have been working the back channels early on.

To what end? If Gruden is going to be hired either way, Hart's reputation is not ultimately at stake. In other words, what does it do for him to be seen as the savior who swoops in at the last minute, or the logical calculating business man who got exactly what he wanted from the beginning?

I don't understand this logic, and I have heard it used more than once.

Maybe because the boosters got the ball rolling and he wants to appear to be in charge and not just handing someone a pen. IMO

Why people continue to believe the clowns in the media who have been wrong this entire time over the people here who have predicted everything correctly from the end of the MSU game is beyond me.

What have they got right? Nothing's happened except firing Dooley, And most here said he would last the rest of the season no matter what once he made it past mizzou.. Hubbs was the one that said he would be fired after a Vandy loss..

Local media is completely in the dark on this. They are afraid to go to the people running the show because they don't want the AD mad at them.

Soon.

Wasn't it just yesterday or the day before when most everyone in here was wondering when the media was going to start picking up on it? Wondering why it was so quiet from both sides (Gruden/Hart). Well they got their wish. Hope they are enjoying the show, because that is what it is.

Boro still as solid as he has been and yay4bray said he got news today that we would kill to hear. All I can say bro is be patient, as hard as it is and let it play out.

The bolded, coupled with Jay and OV's positivity is part of what has folks so annoyed IMO. The way they were acting it was almost as if good news would be leaking any moment, then twenty or so minutes later the negative Hyams/Hubbs report came out. Gotta admit it was funny timing if nothing else. Personally, I'll have faith it's happening until Friday comes and goes without any news, but the previous is what I think has everyone pissed currently. :hi:

I honestly like Al Golden. I think he will do well at Miami. He might have been ok for Tennessee before the Dooley era and may have done well. Unfortunately the past 4 years have put Tennessee on life support. At this point we need a defibrillator (Gruden) not an Advil (Golden).

It is possible, all things are possible.

I'm with your original line of thinking, bcarter. I am fairly optimistic up until Friday- if it goes past that, then I don't think it's going to happen with Gruden.

As for this Hyams/Hubbs thing. I ain't buying it. Right now I am thinking Hart/Gruden pretty much have the media eating out of their hands and are controlling the flow of info in the media. The cancelled meeting is a tidbit thrown to the dogs to squash the Sexton-pushed leak in Memphis this morning. JMO

We have been at this for months.

Like someone else said...we were thrown into this forum while you were still in the football forum thinking we were going to win out.

Everything has been predicted at 100% accuracy starting after MSU.

i believe he did too...but if meeting were indeed planned it would be known from multiple sources, no just his...im not flaming b, i like him, but he has wavered once, where others have not, and now wavering again, one does not waiver much when he is confident of his sources, especially if linked in the way as has been suggested.

I will stick those who have never waivered.

Not saying he is wrong, but up and down up and down hurts confidence in a guy.

Home Run Hire, GTFO.....no recruits are going to want to play for Golden at UT....get real Son

Sorry son, but I think he would do great. All I have heard from Miami fans is how good of a coach he is. Just wait, if he doesn't end up at Tennessee, he will win ball games for some club in the near future.
