Have all of the big name coaches come out and denied interest in UT coaching job? I know Stoops, Fisher, and Golden have! Then there is Gruden!!! Why hasn't he released anything?

It's hard to argue against the fact that Hart is not interviewing current coaches and sitting in his office not flying around doing interviews. Maybe he isn't doing interviews because he can't get away from this thread and thus his work is being affected (like the rest of us lol).

No disagreeing with you but with modern technology like "go to meeting, webcams, and such he really wouldn't have to leave if he didn't want to.

That being said, I just imagined Petrino doing an interview via webcam with a volley ball player coming out from underneath the desk.....hahahaha

Seems dubious IMO, but contractually, who knows. I don't think UT can afford to buy him out of his contract with them too.

Gruden's MNF contract goes well past the end of this season's broadcasts. I don't think that's it.

And I still haven't heard any reason why he couldn't be announced as UT's next head coach, and still finish the remainder of the year with ESPN.

OK, so who is your list of best recruiters? I know after this season it is hard not to want the best on-the-field coaching, but truly recruiting does come first.

You would have to go:

1. Saban
2. Chizik
3. Hoke
4. Fisher
5. Kiffin
6. Miles

You can also add Muschamp, Richt and Mack Brown, but their recruiting is super easy looking at where their schools are located...

A buddy of mine just walked in to class and said he was crossing the torchbearer when a tan Yukon stopped to let him by. He looked in to wave thanks and says it was gruden. He also has a pic of the license plate that is from south Florida and a bucs trailer hitch. Swears up and down it was him. I know it's another one of "these" posts but that's a lot of circumstantial evidence. Thought it was interesting nonetheless and I'd pass it on.
