IMO Hart is going to allow the names of guys like Gruden and Fisher make the rounds for the smoke and media attention then name Bob Stoops as HC. Guy has been around the block both at FSU, Bama and ACC office. I'm sure he has one of the better sets of back channels in the biz.

just a thought...Bob agreed to the UF job when Meyer stepped down but UM decided to come back. It's been rumored the last few years he wanted to get a new start but no good jobs were open. He's an Ohio guy with SEC ties...just sayin. He's the guy NO one is talking about.

You can come back in a week so we can slap hands. :salute:

I would imagine whoever Hart has talked.to is not currently coaching for a school or we would have at least heard about the school granting coach permission to speak. hoe does something like that not leak out?

I just find it interesting that all the people on here with "sources" are certain Gruden is coming but almost no one in the media is reporting it. Maybe the AD is really keeping it from them. Just makes me cautious.

agents and feelers. You don't have to inform a school about those then next week at coaching meeting a sit down takes place...how do you think Foley Muschamp's name out of the press until the last hour.

Great interview on the Ainge show just now with Terry Adams (Adams law firm). Terry is an attorney and former NFL agent. He said 99.99% chance that Hart already has his coach. If he didn't there would be leaks of coaches he has interviewed and not a single leak out there. Meaning Hart isn't interviewing current coaches, unlike AD's at the other schools who have vacancies.

He said the coaching world is so small and the writers that cover them is even smaller, he could find out who's already interviewed for the UK, NCSU, Cal, etc jobs very easily and not a single leak from the UT AD. He said that means that Harts coach isn't currently coaching and the most likely candidates would be Butch Davis, Petrino and Gruden. And it's very unlikely that Davis or Petrino would be the guy. All signs point to Gruden.

I agree in most cases but UT needs a "name" who can coach..not just a solid coach. Not many of those guys out of work these days. Unless Hart is just blowing smoke then next coach will have HC exp not some OC/DC so that trims the list. If it's an out of coaching guy I'll say Butch Davis.

Hart and Davis have ties from UNC and ACC. Not saying he the choice but it would make sense with their ties and his connects in Fla and NC.

I like Butch Davis and was wanting him as coach last time. Would be thrilled to have him if Gruden is a no go.
