I think this is an interesting write-up:

"Tennessee offensive line commitment Brett Kendrick began to explore other options following coach Derek Dooley's firing, but he says he's no longer listening to other teams."

TOS

Honestly, Kendrick needs to be told to look elsewhere, he's not an SEC caliber player.

There are just all of these extremely flimsy stories floating around as to why we are not getting Gruden. Taken together they smell like a huge ball of lies.

If I were a Nashville, Chattanooga, or Memphis journalist who didn't depend on access to the University, I would write a half-page column making a very convincing case as to why it smells like Gruden is coming to Tennessee.

That would be badass. Make somebody in the Gruden camp comment.

Getting anxious, gonna have an opportunity today to talk to a member of the trustees today and you better believe I'm gonna try to get any and everything I can outta him. I'm not sure how much he knows or how much he will tell me (or giveaway) but I will definitely let y'all know whatever it may be! Should be able to post something by 12.

The big worry is if you stray from this message board, the silence is a bit deafening. It's easy to convince yourself that is a good thing, but the next moment, you can't help but wonder why the mainstream media is not talking more. It's one thing for the local writers to be confused, but this is a national story and you have to ask why the national media isn't on this.

Oh I thought you were talking about Gruden talking to NFL teams about him coaching. Since Gruden is not currently coaching an NFL team, I am not sure the tampering rules apply. Could be wrong though.

Yea someone posted the actual rules yesterday and he can't talk to NFL coaches about a future NFL job until the offseason or it's tampering.

More very good points to consider.

From the article posted on the Chattanooga News Free Press:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Like Michael Keaton's classic 1980s movie character "Beetlejuice," there is one name on the list of University of Tennessee football coaching candidates that very few journalists want to say aloud.

The idea of simply saying Jon Gruden's name, and the fear of looking foolish if he isn't the choice, prevents many in the mainstream media from even mentioning him
.

Hey guys if no coach gets announced this week we should have Jon Gruden rally Saturday in front of the Neyland Statue at the main gate of the stadium.
