7-5 next year and 10-2 the next would burn all that baggage. He is a great coach, if he had truly hit bottom and lost everything he has, he could be a grand slam hire imo.

Redemption is a powerful motivator, and a motivated clear headed Petrino is very close to the best you could do at any school. Jmo

I would rather pull for a lost cause like we are now then that P.O.S. . If I wanted to be morally bankrupt I would be a bama fan.

He can ride all the Harleys and bang all the blondes he wants. I don't care, that's between him and his wife. My problem with the guy is the way he has treated his former teams. Louisville and Atlanta. I would always be nervous that at any moment he could do the same to us.

I think this is an interesting write-up:

"Tennessee offensive line commitment Brett Kendrick began to explore other options following coach Derek Dooley's firing, but he says he's no longer listening to other teams."

This is exactly why Hart kept Dooley for as long as he could. Before the announcement, I wouldn't be shocked to see or hear more denials from "potential candidates".

With all the denials its starting to sound like Hart is about to hire another "Dooley" ... still wonder why all the money is getting pumped back into the athletics dept. unless its to pay off all of Hamiltons mess.

He's a good coach, but he makes Kiffin look loyal.

I wasn't very loyal in my early career but have been almost 9 years with this company. People grow and "figure it out". If he is indeed one that has, he would be a home run. I do not know if he has or not.

Also yesterday someone posted that it's illegal for coaches to be contacted about joining another staff while still in the season so I don't think he is going NFL.

I'm still stuck on the fact that nobody from our AD or from Grudens camp has made a statement saying this is not happening... So I'm clinging to the OG's word here. My worst nightmare is for Hart to hire Strong and then pull a Hammy and say he was our only target from day 1

That is interesting to hear - I just don't put a lot into recruits having that knowledge - high school kids aren't exactly known for their discretion...

Quite frankly, a lot of the second hand stuff I've gotten (not primary sources) is that several coaches in the AA and NFL world think Gruden is coming to UT. TIFWIW

I think the original Gruden to UT talk from back in September was coming from NFL sources.
