Bruin I like you. You bring a educated, logical discussion to your opinion. I will NOT agree with you on this one though. Al Golden would be Derek Dooley with a tie on. This program would be destroyed.

It's easy to feel like very coach that travels that low D1 path is going to end up the same way but that's by fair IMO.

I don't think Golden would be a slam dunk hire, but I don't think he would be a terrible one either. Just my opinion.

Gruden is the definition of a home run hire.

I said he could not be to some. That's true for a lot of people. You don't have to hang on to every word I say, its an opinion.

I really don't know if Golden would fit the criteria of a "proven" coach and one with SEC experience. I think there are as many question marks surrounding his ability and all kinds of praise for his character, which reminds me of a coach that just left TN.

Nothing about Gruden reminds me of dooley except neither is coaching at the Moment!

I just don't see Hart screwing this up, to much pressure and it will be the beggining of the end for him. I'm still thinking that he is much smarter than Hamilton, if the ball is truly in his court why wouldn't you hire Gruden be a hero. Most everybody is not going to blame Hart if for some insane reason Gruden couldn't get it done here, but if he goes with a weak hire he has to win right off the bat or down goes the whole ship! What do you think he will do? GO VOLS GET GRUDEN!! THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!!:rock:

Poster in the recruiting forum posted info from 247 about a visit the remaning coaches did with Jordan Wilkins a 13" recruit RB from Cordova.

I live in Memphis and I was told today that Hugh Freeze visited Wilkins last night after Chizik was fired. Freeze will do well in recruiting this year.

But, most people consider Petersen a top tier option. If we don't get Gruden, I fear we won't get a top tier coach.

Agreed. I see patterson as a top tier hire as well though, and I am not sure why but I like him better than Peterson. BUT I am hanging onto the GRUDE

I try to look at it from all different perspectives. I am sorry that can't be conveyed in one post. Different things happen and those events change your perspective. That's typically normal for most people.

Be kinda hard for Arkansas to hire Peterson being that they've already landed an agreement with Gruden (sarcasm). Point being, I'll believe that when I see it. I could see him taking the Cal job. Or the Oregon job if Chip Kelly were to leave. Not sure about Arkansas.
