Same here with the if no announcement this week thing. If we don't here by Fri then I will be begin to seriously doubt. Until then not much else to do but wait and see. Like people have said, anybody but Gruden right now seems like a major let down.

I don't care about making the fanbase happy. I care about making the recruits happy. There are other fine candidates out there but Gruden is the big prize.

Other factors in play besides the final payment form TB. I feel like the 30th is going to be a wild day!! GO VOLS BRING ON JON GRUDEN!!!! WE WANT GRUDEN!!:rock:

If they are hesitating to announce Gruden, it is because someone has a reservation about hiring him, either the money or the power or the belief in his ability to coach in college.

If they wait any longer its because they are genuinely looking for an alternative to Gruden.

Kiffin wasn't announced until December 1st I believe after Fulmer was hired. I am in no big hurry.

The whole idea of the 30th was based on some ridiculous (IMO) idea that Gruden was waiting on a paycheck from Tampa.

I've also heard that he wont be announced until after MNF is over.

I disagree with both of those. If they really had Gruden locked up and wanted him as a coach for sure, it would be announced ASAP in order to get the show rolling. From a UT perspective there is absolutely no reason now to hold this thing up. Dooley is fired and the season is officially over.

Wrong, I read the post and he was referencing those outside of this forum. You choose to take it differently. This isn't a Gruden supporter only thread. I tried to start one that didn't support him so much and got merged. This is a public forum. I don't think he is coming. There is NOTHING in this day and age of instant messaging that could keep anything that was signed under wraps for more than 5 minutes. Most all of us would like to see him, but unlike you and several others, we aren't going to dive off the Henley St bridge if it doesn't happen. Don't act like this is a Grudenite thread only. You just make yourself look silly.

still a skeptic. Hope I'm wrong. There are just so many factors on both ends that could put a kink. From AD support to Gruden other contracts to contract stipulations to hesitation to whatever. It's my understanding that he makes over 15 million a year in total earnings. How much would he have to give up? Any? All? None?

But on another note, if all is as others say in the Gruden corner here, the ink isn't dry or we would all know, imo. But, Gruden could still be the man and it could get worked out. In the meantime, Hart has to do his job and keep contacting coaches. Gruden has been known to leave people at the altar, and you better have a backup plan/s set and ready to fire.

And now we have magically found money that wasnt there before so we can hire the #2,3,4,5 guys? I dont buy it...the money being moved around is pushing Saban's level of pay...you dont pay those types of guys that much...

I agree again. There are a number of good candidates out there and as long as golden isn't the next call after gruden he belongs on the list. He is in the 2nd tier and its very possible it gets down to him IMO.

30th definitely makes the most sense because of the SECG. Forget the game Gruden would be all the media is talking about. No better timing as far as making a big splash.

Especially when they read zero posts or threads before they spewed. Many here have been in since the early GRuden threads. We are not going to hold their hand and lead them through the events that caused us to believe but we don't like them spewing off without reading at least some of the previous Gruden threads. Mostly because ALL of their arguments have already been gone over in the previous threads yet they think their ideas are profound and no one here has thought of that.

Yeah like while media starts the SECs playin game to the BCS NC. The equally biggest news is Tennessee got their man. Yeah publicity will all be all SEC and shockwaves will be sent to the entire country for recruits committed elsewhere or not.

If we get turned down by the best out there (IMO, Gruden, Stoops, Patterson, and Peterson) and we have to go all the way down to Golden, I will not be pleased but I will still support my Vols.
