If Golden is hired I am taking a 3 year mission with the Mormon church. When I return I will run for prez, and be here for Official Jon Gruden thread XXVII.

What are we suppose to tell the number 2 guy on the list.....we offered Gruden and staff 9.4 mill a year but you were our second choice so we are only offering you and staff 4.5 mill to get it done...

2nd or 3rd choices aren't going to work here.....

Gruden's name will not die.....Hart is no dummy.......even if we don't hire him this hire will be looked at as the "hire of crossroads" for this program.....we have thrown a double wide trailer at him.....what do you think he is going to do.....it's time he steps up to the plate and accepts the job.....now when.

I think Jake has been a late comer too if I am not mistaken. And of course we have the beloved often misunderstood babyavi.......

Many of the top candidates are still coaching either conference championships or will likely land in BCS bowls. I believe most ADs will refrain from approaching these coaches who still have games left to play. Coaches such as Stoops, Jimbo and some of the others mentioned certainly fall into this situation.

It appears there are going to be quite a few schools who will see their recruiting turned upside down this year...and who knows how long some of these searches might last. I'm not predicting who will land where, but there are going to be a lot of schools who will be taking some big chances on their new hires.

Of course how did I forget Jake...brought solid info...

Babyavi was hardcore against it all IIRC...but has also converted recently as well...

I think officially you are right but I think much posturing through back channels is taking place through third parties.

I think this tread dies if nothing is announced on or before the 30th, anyone still hoping the OG's are correct will fall off the wagon....not saying that means no Gruden just saying the thread will be full blown bedlam!

I'm cute without trying to be. More pertinent to the point, I'm trying to be logical.

If you're incapable of seeing the contradiction in your statement, then I'm not sure I can help you.

Your first statement:

"Nothing in life is 100% sure." Which logically equates to "100% of things in life are unsure"-- which would include your statement. So, your statement instructs us that we can have no faith that your statement is true. Thus, we have no reason to consider it.

Your second, slightly revised, statement fails in a similar manner:

"I'm 100% sure that nothing in life is 100% sure." Which, again, includes your statement, so you can't be sure that nothing in life is sure, so we have no reason to consider your statement.

It's not "cute". It's critical thinking, and logical reasoning.
