Just my weekly installment of espn insider-

Says Golden is a fish out of water in Miami, (you think?) may be looking to get out, but believed BC a much better fit (think he coached there in some capacity?) BC apparently interested.
Also states that Petrino likely ends up at Auburn. Tifwiw....

Thanks!

I'm not necessarily arguing for him, but I think he's done more than his record suggests.

At any rate, why is UT feeding so much Golden speculation? There must be something there.

Yea, I am not for hiring Golden, but you have to look at more than just the numbers. Temple was dead for years and really bad. He won 8 and 9 games there. Miami was a bad situation and is playing a lot if young guys. That said, I don't know how well he could recruit. We need a mixture of a recruiter and scheme coach, or at least on staff.

If Petrino lands at Auburn you can bet they will contend right away...I wish we would not be so stubborn and go for him if Gruden fails.

Edit: Not sure if that was meant to refer to the fired NCSU coach with the names mixed up, or a prediction that the PSU coach will bolt after one season.

Yeah I thought he said Bill o'brien was leaving, i think I misunderstood him

HC- Fulmer
OC- Jim Chaney
DC- John Chavis
QB-WR- Tee Martin
RB- Jay Graham
OL- Sam Pittman
DL- "Let Chavis Pick It"

You guys can fill in the rest of the Coaches... Bring in a star studded cast to surround the HC... Only then can we win...

You guys know it and I know it.. You can bring in any Coach in the nation.. And he will NOT win without the best Coordinators.. Then bring the best recruits.. Now we are talking about winning...

General Neyland quoted that the Head Coach of any football team is only as good as his supporting cast and players... Come on folks, we are VFL.. and we are a family.. I don't really care who the next Head Coach is, but he had better have some good Coordinators or we will be right back here in three years just like today discussing the same ole same ole...
I kinda like this.

It beats the hell out of hiring Golden IMO.

It beats alot of the choices I have seen

My inside sources told me Peyton and Hart picked him up in a black van. :)

Gruden has it in his contract that he will only ride in an Orange and White Caddy to and from McGhee Tyson. And Hart had to ride in the back seat if he gets to ride at all. :)

I heard that statement and I am nearly certain it never said it was for the coaching hire.

He said as we begin our search for a new coach... then went on to talk about giving the 18 million. I assumed along with a lot of people thats what it is being used for.

Petrino to Auburn? If there's one thing a coach with questionable integrity wants to do, it's go to work for a school with no integrity at all and a building on campus designated to annually host NCAA officials.

Hate to admit it but this looks solid. Doubt youd get Chief back from LSU though

Golden and attendance at the U are not correlated. Miami natives as a whole hate commuting an hour from the university on buses to the stadium. Second you are competing with the beach. People forget about the heat, and other things to do in Miami. The school is private with roughly 10,000 people, and most students could care less about football. Still don't think Golden is a great hire, but at the same time that doesn't exclude him as a bad coach.

~Let's all just imagine another 3 seasons of Dooleyesque football, and then say "NO" to all of this Golden talk so loudly; they hear it up on the HILL~

Why would Hart do this? To buy time. He needs a few more days to nail as many issues as he can for the Gruden deal. Those mostly are internal academic type issues that have long hampered the team' s success. He may also be trying a strong arm approach with the academic/ admin to get what he wants by telling them their stupid rules are preventing getting real coaches, such as Gruden. Either way, Hart has stayed out of direct contact with the Gruden bunch for deniability purposes. He can provide cover by leaking to some mouthy media, like Hyams, that he has not talked to Gruden in order to keep them off the trail. Throwing thee little bones are diversionary tactics, again to buy time and distract from the real target, Gruden.

you left off some big whys this thing is still in progress and not done (and it is not done IMO), is that there are still items that Tennessee cannot accept. nothing will get done until those items are addressed. JMO
