I played for Coach Kerr while attending Halls 86-90.

Was that when we were good? Because the entirety of the four years I've been here, we've been pretty terrible. Last three years have been 2-28 I think? Something ridiculous.

Just bringing a little reality to this thread.

ran into ainge at halftime of the game today, and couldn't resist asking him directly if it was gruden. He said no, and said something about "last night," which i took to mean things broke off after last night. He said ut had tried to get him, but it wasn't going to happen, and "it sucks" that it won't. Note: I do not know ainge, so i wouldn't expect him to share any secrets with me, if he's running some sort of smokescreen until the ad lifts the embargo on reporting the true info or something. And it's also posssible he's being given false info and used without his knowledge. All i can say is that if gruden comes, a lot of the knoxville based media people are going to have egg all over their faces (not that anyone will care if gruden comes). On the way to the game i also heard john pennington say on the radio that while he thought ut had made some preliminary contact with gruden some time back, people he trusts had told him doing anything with gruden at this point was "doa. Deader than marley's ghost." fwiw.

I thought we were supposed to hear more publicly in 48 hours? I think it was 48 hours like 24 hours ago.

Not trying to be negative nancy here, but i was just thinking the same thing. I was thinking how much quieter it got since that "educated guess" which was just the opposite of how it was suppose to play out.

Combine that with news from someone I know with sources close to the program and within the AD saying that Gruden wasn't going to happen and I have gone from full Grude back to skeptical Grude. I still want him, but that conversation made me truly wonder how there can be such a disconnect b/w those saying he's done to those saying TN is going a different direction.

Common sense tells me that if we have him.... like has been portrayed here it will be announced soon. Season is over. No real reason to keep it in the bag IMO.

This is the only thing that still give me hope. If the negotiations have broke off I would expect something to leak from the Gruden camp.
