Well, IF what I was told is true and I do not know that it is, I see it as a way for both sides to be "right."

As far as the money goes, things are settled so that deal is done. And money obviously would be a very big potential impediment.

But the "control" aspect could be the significant hang up that gets the probability much closer to 0, as some have said.

Spoke to a friend today who is in a position to know details, and he is not optimistic. Said that $6mil+ for gruden and $4.5mil for staff is settled, no problem, so in this sense the deal is in fact done. The rub is that this week gruden has asked for "the same level of control that Saban has at bama" and that neither cheek nor hart are willing to go along. Says this is the "issue" that hubbs is referring to, and is not likely to be resolved.

I hope he is wrong.
