They already know he won't be there It's not like he just isn't going to show up for work.
They're required to contact four total coaches. We were told that these were the other 3.
Did you guys miss the PTI thing the other day where they were talking about Gruden leaving off camera?
ESPN removes reference to Jon Gruden leaving from PTI broadcast | ProFootballTalk
Yes, I know all about that. However, a week notice is better than a two day notice. He can't keep going on a week-to-week basis with ESPN depending on when he's accepting a job. It's quite obvious that he's leaving because ESPN has never issued a statement about his commitment level before this round of coaching carousal season.
BabyVol couldn't have summed it up better. I feel the same way.
If I am wrong I will never offer any info again lol. With that said, I am confident I am not wrong.
Only thing you say I could disagree with is money not a limiting factor. It would seem that his agent could ask a price unrealistic and the deal could die. In my opinion that's maybe whats going on. I do think he wants to come just because he has not said no. I would not think he would want to insult folks in Knoxville with his wife's connection.Way too many people over analyzing this.
Here's what you need to know, then you can figure out what you believe:
This process began many weeks ago.
The AD is not driving this process.
Money will not be a limiting factor if they have the right guy on the hook.
Boosters and Trustees will not trust this hire to an AD that has been here for 13 months. Particularly after the Hamilton debacle.
Money for the buyout/hire did not come from the AD.
Current AD personnel will not be allowed to be a hindrance in getting a deal done.
Believe what you want.
