People tend to ignore my ?s, so here goes nothing. I am not doubting the OGs ....I am just curious as to why it would need to be kept a secret at this point....just wondering.....

To my understanding, from the UT perspective, UT does not want to seem like they were angling behind Dooley's back. They will wait at least until after the UK game. From ESPN's perspective there is a commitment Gruden made and until everything is worked out to resolve the lack of that commitment or until the commitment is over we will not hear anything...IMO

off to work grudes....hoping for some good tidbits from the Og's when I get home on cliff notes...see ya at 1030

Basilio saying he was trying to let people down easy about Gruden's chances of being at UT with his blog entry yesterday. Saying now on radio.

"To me Gruden has always been a longshot because I've never been convinced that he absolutely 100-percent wants to coach in college. I also have always said I will believe it when I see it because your talking huge amounts of money and Gruden is said to have alot of parameters in terms of control.

And Gruden is not nearly as safe of a bet for success as Saban was when he came to Alabama.

So those are some reasons I have always thought he was a longshot." - Hubbs

Hubbs does not know.

If that is not an opinion I don't know what is.

AD just isn't releasing info guys so the media is just saying 5% or zero chance on Gruden cause they have no clue. Boro said last night he got new news that made him think we could start hearing serious rumbles in 48 hours. Dudes been pretty solid the whole time. Forget Hubbs, Hyman and Rucker! Best place for info is rightcheer imo!!

Ask yourself why espn want even mention Gruden name in coaching search , and why they have deleted some of the only talk that has been done . PTI

So help me God, if Gruden is indeed on board and he's hired, I'm calling every one of these radio shows and telling them "On behalf of Grudenites everywhere, please kindly suck it".

Just checked with my most reliable source that is close to a major booster. He said he just asked him about it and Hyams is WRONG. Says we are past the point where the deal falling through or Gruden backing out is even possible. Everyone just calm down and take it easy. This just the AD trying to keep this story from breaking out anymore than it already has.

Struck me as misdirection to get everybody past the Ky game.

Makes sense...thanks

What happens to all the "insiders" when we hire someone else?

What happens to all the "insiders" when it comes out Gruden was never contacted?

What happens to all the "insiders" when Gruden is hired, but not until late December?

Boro, oldvol, jay, little dto, gman all said Gruden will be the head coach. Why do we go through this panic attack everyday that a media member said its not happening? Its happening!! Will be announced no later then Dec 1.

Media members like info, like Grudenites do. When they do not hear info they get nervous and need something else to speculate about, just like this thread. Patience is not in a reporters vocabulary...

My point is media members and many on this thread have a lot in common...

Hyams inside source was Fulmer for years, when that went away Hambone threw him a few bones here and there. Hyams has pissed more boosters off than you can count on both hands, money talks. When you have an AD on the job for 13 months making the biggest decision on a program where money is impacted, bet your bottom dollar Hart was not the final decision maker on the hire. The tell-tale sign from the Hart presser was where he made it known there would not be a coaching firm contacted.
