No, Hubbs stance has not changed since day one...He said we were in talks before Dooley was fired. He said it was always a 10% possibility, hence long shot...

His quote today sounded much less than 10per. He used the word longest shot of all the candidates. Sounds like he is close to ruling him out

I hope our insiders are right, because I'd hate to end up with a coach that I have to google to know who he is...again.

Hubbs has also posted some of why he thinks Gruden is a long shot. I really hope this deal is farther along than Hubbs thinks and that Jon Gruden will, indeed, be our next football coach. I really do not think Hubbs even knows what to think.

I did some research on things.

It seems like a lot of announcements are:

Dec. 10 - 15th

or

Jan. 2- 7th

Now, for Gruden...it could be similar to Myers announcement which was forced because of the media. He was working for ESPN as well, and someone broke the news that he was indeed going to be the next coach for Ohio St.. Remember, he "told ESPN he wouldn't be able to work" and then he was introduced that night or crazy like that. and that was

Nov. 28th.

My prediction? I think Jon Gruden wants this as hush, hush as possible until the REDSKINS game in NY. That's when he will be able to finalize some things over with R. Morris. That day is Dec. 3rd.

I think on Dec.10th, Gruden tells ESPN he can't come in and Dilfer "subs" for him.

DEC. 12th is what I predict.

JAN 19th is when Gruden is introduced to the TN fans.

Got to be announced sometime eairly December for recruiting. If you waite until Jan 19th it is not enough time to recruit.

Just checked with my most reliable source that is close to a major booster. He said he just asked him about it and Hyams is WRONG. Says we are past the point where the deal falling through or Gruden backing out is even possible. Everyone just calm down and take it easy. This just the AD trying to keep this story from breaking out anymore than it already has.

See I just checked with my sources (aka) Em. He said they where running hyams out of town.

So if Hart is supposedly still looking for a coach, and he is not hiring a search firm, why was it being reported all this week that he hasn't even left his office. If he was doing this all himself he would be traveling and trying to meet with prospects and agents. He is sitting in his office, calling to give interviews because he has to and this is what the reporters are getting wind of. Gruden is coming, because there is not anyother coach we would change academic and athletic policies and spend this type of money...use common sense people...

The last part seems to really make sense to me.

Dr. Basketball of Chattanooga Radio is still on board: "Dont believe what you hear on vols search....THE STORM IS COMING"

"To me Gruden has always been a longshot because I've never been convinced that he absolutely 100-percent wants to coach in college. I also have always said I will believe it when I see it because your talking huge amounts of money and Gruden is said to have alot of parameters in terms of control.

And Gruden is not nearly as safe of a bet for success as Saban was when he came to Alabama.

So those are some reasons I have always thought he was a longshot." - Hubbs

Hubbs does not know.

Hubbs plainly stats that his opinion is not based of sources but mainly his idea that:

1. He is not sure Gruden even wants to coach college
2. He is not sure Hart would want to relinquish as much control as Gruden demands.

He is speculating just like most of us.

People tend to ignore my ?s, so here goes nothing. I am not doubting the OGs ....I am just curious as to why it would need to be kept a secret at this point....just wondering.....
