I totally agree with what the program needs. But still, it's nice to approach it from all angles and look at positives and negatives of the hire.
We always like to focus on the positives because of how terrible UT has been the past 5 years. Gruden brings a huge name, great coaching skills, and relentless work ethic
I worry about recruiting violations, his approach on the sideline with players, and press conferences when he loses. Those are the things we see.
How is he going to react to having the multiple bosses with big money moving this deal? It's got to be awkward for him to not really know who he technically reports to. Since this is boosters doing this work not Hart as many have said.
It does sound like some ethical issues have arisen and logically that leads me to think of some sort of NCAA requirements and leaves the university in a perilous position.
I think that would be the only possible reason UT could say no at this point.

Another thing, I was all for patience, but after watching this Texas game, I'm beginning to think that Brown will be forced out, and if Hart f--ks around, we could see ourselves competing with Texas for his services, and that's one school we don't want to go head to head with for any candidate, especially one as coveted as Gruden.
Thats why he is looking at several college coaches, they have recruiting experience. Gruden will be the "closer", much like Saban.
I think its done. I'm not implying its not. I think it will be a great boost. But I am just saying, he is feisty!
All of this doesn't worry me as he has family locally.... I do not see him doing something to embarrass himself and the folks that have called Tennessee home so long....
One thing i can say for sure is that Momma isn't happy if the in-laws aren't happy..
You sure as he11 do not want to live in the same house with momma if she isn't happy..k:

There is also some worry that Gruden may be hard to control if hired.-babyvol
This is what scares me.
At what point did Gruden turn into a werewolf that has to locked up on full moons?
"Oh God! He's a wild, uncontrollable beast rampantly violating NCAA rules!"
Geez.
What are the biggest issues? that he wants as much money as he can for assistants? or does he want more control in the AD? I agree Saban gets what he wants, and look at their results. I want that, no doubt.
