A true army general, Neyland was a very tough coach. He was known for demanding his players to run the plays to absolute perfection, and wasn’t satisfied until they did. Neyland also got a reputation for putting his players through grueling workouts so they would be in peak physical condition.

That, to me, embodies a true football coach. Gritty, hard-nosed, with that edge. The days of "snotbubbles" and "slobberknockin" need to return. Corners and safties that dont try to dive and make the leg wrap, or take a terrible angle to avoid having to take on the ball carrier. Tacklers on defense. Speed is huge, as is athleticism. But when we are seeing the speed used to catch the ball carrier from behind because of missed tackles and LBs not being able to shed blocks.

Many did not like Majors, and I was young and impressionable, but I always thought he was that type coach, to teach toughness. And Gruden has those ties and has the reputation. He HAS to be that guy.

what is your take on the Nov 30th date.... and do you think Hart is interviewing Mora and Golden because he knows they are not coming but as a token to meet the requirements.

I believe the fact of who he is interviewing says much about Gruden being our man as anything. Only if we were inteviewing someone like Stoops would I think serious

Well I would like to see the evidence of this statement. The only one that I know that post in the recruiting thread and here also is OCI.

I use to stay in recruiting thread and never saw OldVol, Bcarter, Gman, jay, DTo there myself...
