Ok, so I called my buddy to see if he had any more information. All he knows is that there have been serious talks concerning Gruden receiving some form of ownership or managing position with the Browns if he accepts the HC job at Tennessee. This would not occur until his coaching career with Tennessee was done. He's going to see if he can get any more specifics and call me back. I'll let you know what I hear.
Up till a year or two ago, Pappy was using Stitzer-Weller (Old Fitz) juice, and aged it for sale in 15, 20, and 22 year age groups. I think they are buying Buffalo Trace white dog now. Best bourbon I've ever tasted, except for A H Hirsch (which you can't get anymore). Love my bourbon but hate Wildcats!
Update: The response to the inquiry was, "Why are you so interested?" He explained that he has a good friend who is a Vol fan who is interested for obvious reasons. He was told that nothing more would be said about the matter and that he shouldn't be repeating things that he is told in confidence. This is from a close relative of his who has always been very gossipy. He found that strange. So, he seems to think that the Haslam and the Browns have indeed offered Gruden a stake in the team (on the condition that he accepts the UT HC job) and are trying to keep thigs quiet for legal reasons.
Doesn't look like I'll be getting anymore info from him, so there ya go.
Coming Back to East Tennessee from the Army 14th of Dec. Jon Gruden will be the coach. Possibly the best month of my life. Im predicting Gruden will Be announced Dec 21 2012. Maybe this is what the Mayans and Nostradamus were talking about!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!
Throwing the bank at him.I seen this in a post earlier is there truth to any of this just got up
"Gruden is being offered a stake in the Cleveland Browns franchise from Haslam if he accepts the HC job at Tennessee. This would obviously not be part of the official contract, but if this is true, it sounds like they are working every possible angle."
