Basilio's blog is interesting. So, the Big Boys are going to let Hart conduct a super secret, unilateral "search" and develop a list with three names. Then, he will present the final list to the Big Boys and they will "help" decide.

Hmmmmm, looks like a stacked deck to me. And a way to buy more time with no information leaking due to the so-called super secrecy of the "search."

The boosters are not going to allow a guy that has been on campus for roughly 1 year to have complete control of the reigns of the biggest money producer in the UT AD. They may patronize him and let him do his little search but in the end they'll get who they want.

It looks like there is a well orchestrated effort to all of this. That is what I am hoping anyhow. At least we don't have deputy Barney Hamilton Fife patroling the scene any longer.

Wes Rucker ‏@wesrucker247

Asked one of Vols' coaches how he was doing. Reply: "I'm about to be unemployed, Wes. How are you?" Tough business, this is

Bet it was Sal.

I am sorry to see anyone lose their job, but Wes should understand that people in every profession lose jobs, and most do not get generous buyouts. Dont get me wrong, I feel for fired coaches, but I have a long line of unemployeed plumbers, teachers, etc that I work with. Every business is a tough business. Sorry, not trying to nitpick the guy he just seemes to have a different way of thinking imo

If there was solid proof that Gruden was a done deal there would be no reason to have this thread in the "Coaches Rumors and Speculation" Forum. JMHO

I didn't say he was hired. In fact this thread will be here after the hire is made. No matter who gets the job...may not have the same buzz....right now the focus is gruden if he says no officially then what... The people in the know don't control the board and they just post what they know or think they know or have heard from sources outside and some are just posting what they have read....

If gruden did tell Arkansas no then why are fans stating its a done deal.....40%

It's the nature of the beast.....it can affect sleep patterns trying to figure it out....sit back and relax, you have no control and know the right hire will be made this time regardless of who it is....I think we are throwing the sink at Gruden but that does not mean it is a done deal, but it could very well mean it is..............

They are fufilling the 3-interview requirement and allowing Gruden time to get his final Bucs payment IMO.

This is my thing...No one knew Kiffin was going to be hired and no one know Dooley was going to be hired..whats the difference now!?

The difference is that when that hire took place the boosters basically let Mike Hamilton go get who he wanted. They will not let that happen again. They are/will be very involved with this hire. They are very invested in this unlike Hart who if he makes a mistake he simply gets fired and walks away. He would just retired. While the boosters will be left to clean up the mess as they are having to do now.

I will save my sympathy for people out of work that make 7 or 8 dollars an hour not these guys. Not to be cold but several hundred thousand dollars in buyout should soften the blow. Of course for Dooley several million.

Some dude is laying it to Tony B.
He's just like all of us in the dark and speculating. You folks on this thread are making them have to find an equal if he does not come. I want accept a Golden or Franklin class coach.

Apparently being a self-promoting wannabe sports writer hack-Douchebag is recession proof.

We also have to remember that even though everybody wants the announcement today, if i'm not mistaken NCAA rules require at least 3 candidates to be interviewed, including 1 minority. I think right now it is making sure we satisfy all the "requirements" before anything is leaked from the Athletic Department. I think that could be why Hart has been given the task of putting together a list of 3 candidates to give to the donors, because they probably don't want to have anything to do with selecting the minority to be interviewed or any of that. Ultimately, I believe it will be Gruden and I think the date of sometime next week is realistic, but we definitely want to make sure UT follows all the NCAA guidelines in this search, especially since we are already on 2 more years of probation.

As for me I am old and not intellengent enough to say things but a couple of ways... that is just by plain talk.

As my old grandpa use to tell tell me "Speak Plain, boy, cause plain talk is easy understood" I alway thought that just meant say what you mean... and if I asked the same question again he would say "I don't chew my baccar twice' ...tried to spell it like he would say it LOL

my granddaddy always said" if you don't like this speed, you definitely won't like the next one"
