I just wanted to know why we don't love Tee like we do Manning ...

My reason is this:

Peyton
Att Comp % Yards INT TD's
1994 144 89 61.8 1141 6 11
1995 380 244 64.2 2954 4 22
1996 380 243 63.9 3287 12 20
1997 477 287 60.4 3819 11 37
Total 1354 851 62.9 11201 33 90*

Tee
1997 12 6 50.0 87 1 1
1998 267 153 57.3 2164 6 19
1999 305 165 54.1 2317 9 12
Total 584 324 55.5 4568 16 32

Add 600 yds running and 16 rushing tds to Tee's career; but give Peyton 12 rushing tds as well.

actually I edited my 1st sentence after going back over it because it did kinda come off as a dick reaction...lol...but didn't intend it to be...but no problem...

and it is JMO on the whole Peyton/Tee deal...
would love to see Tee come home though...
No problem but yea I would love for Tee to come home.

AFV27, I really didn't mean any disrespect. That question has just always been something that just bothers me to no end. Both are legends, we are all Vols, we are landing Gruden, and things will be good here again.

Tee didn't do that all by himself...
If Peyton would have had the D that the 98 team had,
the 96 and 97 teams would have done both also...

I think they relied on Peyton too much, wouldn't let
Jamal Lewis in the game b/c he didn't know pass protection schemes...just give him the ball and let him run....

and I think the butt whipping Nebraska handed us in the
Orange Bowl toughened up the team for next year...

but Peyton gets so much love because he's been in front of the camera for 15 years now and has shown nothing but love, respect, admiration, and shown the UT in the best light possible...
I have all the respect in the world for Tee,but his was a team through and through...and thats where I think Al Wilson gets short changed more than anyone ever...

We had good defenses when Peyton was there, like you said we relied on Peyton too much and didnt run it enough. Not beating UF was the biggest problem and lets face it he typically had bad games against UF. But still I blame Fulmer and Cut with their decision making.

I hope to god that is true. It seems to jive with speculation and innuendo, but you never know.

That is some serious hardware if it is true. Not cheap either.

Makes me wonder if Gruden won't operate as defacto OC, maybe bring Tee Martin in and let him assist with OC.

I think Tee is coming back.

I'd love to see him back on the sidelines.

Jon Wards description of Gruden's first Vol Walk-
Down Peyton Manning Pass he comes, leading his team like a pack of angry wolves. He follows the path cut between the masses of orange toward the cathedral of which he will make his den. Who is this man? You will all find out today, his name is Jon, Jon Gruden and in just over two hours it will be up to him to bring football back to Tennessee. Ladies and gentleman its Gruden Time in Tennessee!

I just read this trying to sound like him, i actually did pretty good.

One thing better be for sure... If it is Gruden, this Orange and White game will have 104k strong!!! itll be a sellout!!! book it! I have already ordered my UT adidas jersey, with "GRUDEN" on the back, and an appropriate #23!!!

I may have to do the same, but with Roman Numerals, just like the JG threads...which ever on he's announced in will by my new #...

Very quick story. I started talking to a doc at vanderbilt hospital last week (we are there for new baby that needs some surgery, btw, wonderful people and so thankful to be there), and we start talking about UT. He's a vandy grad and I tell him we may indeed get Gruden. The reaction ? " oh, no way. Come on. That will never happen" I just smiled and I hope to see him again after the announcement so I can smile really big! :) thanks to all for your info. It has been a much needed distraction through the season and now our journey with our new addition. :hi:

Best regards to your family. Our family went through a similar situation 10 years ago exactly. Our first grandchild was born 3 months premature. I know how the long days and nights can be. Sending prayers your way.

On a side note: What a great story to tell your child that while you were there doing what was necessary for him/her, Vol Nation had your back and did what was necessary to assure each of our children would be able to continue on with the great tradition of Tennessee Football. (Especially when the official announcement is made stating, UT has hired the next Vol Legend, Coach Jon Gruden! )

Thanks RO.... we "the Vols" will become one again... this split nation shall arise out of the flame as a phoenix from the burnt ashes, and as another poster has said "and we will be bringing He!! with us" and may God have mercy on the SEC

he he he and I can't wait

:lolabove:This....Amen!!!:pepper:

Your ready to ignore me but you care what i think???

Who said I care?

I have tried to answer your honest questions the best I could, I have been kind as far as I know to you. I understand honest questions and being careful about buyng in... that makes sense...but asking the when, the where, the hoiw, the who to every question does not make you Mr Wonderful or easy to deal with.

Most of the people I get information from Do Not give me the details like that only the general information. When I become skeptical is when someone gives details to a situation they should not have details to.

Like I said in response to Boro "I have never placed anyone on Ignore" but at times your questions seem to be badgering. That is just me tho

I'm not the leader. I didn't believe it until I received information that gave me no alternative but to change my tune. No other names are being mentioned because this has been done for a while. I can confirm that Gruden, Graham, Pittman, R. Morris, and Bisaccia will be coaching at UT next year.
