I just don't buy into the whole "It's done & SOON" stuff. In no way would it help UT to go any longer than it must without a HC. Players need to know, recruits need to know who the head coach will be. If it is Gruden, he could accept the job and still finish out MNF this year. Recruiting would get the boost just by the kids knowing he will be here. If we have to play the "wait" game, that would lead me to think it is NOT Gruden and is a current coach for another team. Of course then you have to wait. He has a season to finish and possible bowl game.

It could be also that it is Gruden's staff that has to wait. Plus announce it when you are going to get the biggest bang for the announcement......CG weekend the week of so if it is Gruden he is available for interviews etc and at ESPN.

I wonder if they'll announce it on the same day that Lane Kiffin was announced. Not that it matters, but would "rid" of some of the negative superstition lingering around. I believe Kiffin was announced on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend if I remember correctly. So, an announcement on the 23rd?

Btw....My wife and I celebrate our 13th anniversary on the 24th. So, I would consider Gruden coming to UT a really nice anniversary gift!

How about Gruden and Kiffin announced on the same day? Gruden hired and Kiffin fired.
