I don't mean to tell my age but I've been a fan of UT football since the days of Bill Battle. I saw what Majors re-building did for the program. If this hire is made I think it would eclipse even what he was able to do with the talent level at UT. There are no words for how I would feel for the program and the fanbase in general, I'm sure there will be tears of Joy for all of the Volnation.

Seriously, how can they keep this under wraps for another 10 days? The holiday will help but the 'smokescreen' apparatus is going to have to go into overdrive.

Looks like my boy Peyton may be instrumental in bringing future championships to UT if he was indeed an influence in bringing Grudes to Knoxville.

Maybe, maybe not. I was thinking more of CJG constantly studying film, and having many, many months until his first game. He won't have all summer to get UT up for a cupcake. He gets to travel to Eugene, Oregon and overachieve against Chip Kelly.

I'd be interested to see the records of BCS conference teams that have a bye week or open against Oregon. I wonder if it compares to GT.

I wonder if they'll announce it on the same day that Lane Kiffin was announced. Not that it matters, but would "rid" of some of the negative superstition lingering around. I believe Kiffin was announced on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend if I remember correctly. So, an announcement on the 23rd?

Btw....My wife and I celebrate our 13th anniversary on the 24th. So, I would consider Gruden coming to UT a really nice anniversary gift! :)
