I hope we get a few more guys good enough to showboat. You have to make plays to high-step and such. CP is the most exciting player to me we've had to wear the Orange(high praise I know). He had his grades right and could stay another year he would be the best playmaker to wear the Orange. He's scored 4 different ways for us this year.
Show boating is part of the game though. And I think the refs are BSin with these calls. If a kid isn't taunting the competition you let the players play. Plain and simple stay out of the game refs.

Celebration is a part of the game. Celebrations are earned and therefore they should be glorified. I'm not suggesting college should go to the extent of the NFL in terms of celly's, but it should be more commonly accepted.

I also see CP going to class on a regular basis. If his academic advisers(every student has one) properly set up CP's schedule to cater to a new student like they should have it just doesn't make sense to fail out after 1 semester. If he put 50% effort into his classes and showed up he should at least pass.

I agree that the rule is joke. However, after getting it against Mizzou, CP has to know better than doing it again.

Disclaimer: I didn't actually see what he did because I was looking back at the other flag for ineligible man downfield so I don't know how bad it really was.

That Mizzou flag was such a BS call. Dude was by himself high stepping with his head down. Straight BS call.

The Vandy call was terrible, he was litterally walking sideways and there was a Vandy DB trailing him. No need for the flag. I don't think it would have been called if he wasn't flagged the week before against Mizzou.

Worley's pick was a communication issue with CP. CP was to cut off the route when the D blitzed. He didn't look for the ball and didn't cut off the route until the d-back was already breaking on the ball. That one is equally shared. Other than that Worley was in command.

Your right it was a communication issue. When a QB gets blitzed on a pass play, they have a receiver that runs a hot route. It can be a quick hitch or a short curl. Worley has to know his hot read on every pass play (same with every other QB).

Looking back now, CP's route was definitely not the hot read. It would have either been the slot guy or a dump off to Lane. It was a mis-read by JW and a lack of awareness by CP.

Like I said, I didn't really see it so I can't really say one way or the other.

Either way, the rule is incredibly dumb.

Supposedly, babyvol (who is supposedly very reliable, I wouldn't know) says that he's 99% sure Gruden will be the coach, and that Jay Gruden will likely be the Offensive Coordinator. TIFWIW

IF he's going to give up his $1.2M salary/yr to coach with his brother, that's love.

I just saw on Channel 9 in Chattanooga that some Supporter Allen Jones says Phatt Phil is the man that needs to be rehired and then they followed up by saying Thunder Thorton supports Fulmer. If they do rehire Fulmer I would be very ticked off.

There is just no chance of that happening.

I wouldn't necessarily be disappointing if he is hired, but the Vols should be moving foward. I hope respect is shown and Fulmer, Chavis, Cutcliffe etc.. are consulted in their opinion of who could lead Tennessee best during the hiring process of the next coach.

How could you not be disappointed?!

Sigh. It was absolutely the right move. Bray was not Bray. Overthrow, under throw, the interception was a tipped ball that should never have been thrown.

I agree that Bray was playing poorly, but once you sit him, and play JW or the rest of the half, why bring him back, and suffer through bad throws for the rest of the game?

Leaving an obviously rattled/off Bray in through the third and fourth just seemed like the staff didn't care to me. If they had no qualms with pulling him in the first half (to which we had decent results), why not repeat it in the second when it became obvious that the first time it didn't get his head straight?

I believe that the players will play all-out Saturday, as if the game were an audition or a try-out for the new coach. We will motorboat Kentucky Saturday.

To some extent, that is exactly what it will be. One in particular I will be watching is Bray -- unless he definitely plans to declare for the draft, I would suggest that he refrain completely from his little temper tantrums and mouthing off.

A new coach is going to be inclined to go with the QB that gives him the best chance to win, but if the difference between Bray and Worley (or Peterman) is not huge, he will play the one who is not in his last year, the one who is not a head case, the one who is the more mature, and the one who has the higher football IQ -- and none of those describe Bray.

Bray's been mouthing off since he was a freshman. Chaney is the biggest problem with Bray to me. He was a better player under Hinshaw's coaching than Chaney. He was reading defenses better and looked for a lot of his 2nd and 3rd progressions in his second year. I really can't wait until we get rid of Chaney after this game.

Was hoping to hear more from Montrell on the topic of Gruden. As far as I'm concerned, he's the guy that kind of broke the story that there was mutual interest way back before VN created a new forum for speculation. MH, where you at?
