Kind of believe that if this Gruden story really has legs that we will see more smoke this week and get an announcement after the Kentucky game.

The longer this plays out, the less likely Gruden is comming. I am for sure pro Gruden.

My reasoning is thus - we have enough money, Gruden has expressed an intrest, and he still has ties to the University. Basically, the job is his if he wants it. I dont think there is a control issue with Cheek.
If he didn't have contractual obligations with ESPN, I believe what you posted above would be the case, but it seems because of the contract language with ESPN we wouldn't hear anything positive until after MNF is over. JMO

“Ultimately, it’s always the head coach’s, but it was my recommendation,” Chaney said. “I thought that we needed a change, and let Tyler sit down, calm down, watch the game a little bit and basically get his hiney in his pants a little bit. I thought it helped a little bit, but at the end of the day, it wasn’t all about the quarterback play.

- 247 - Chaney stating it was his recommendation to sit Bray. Ugh.

Yeah I can see that...Is MNF over in December?

Tiny on transfer talk:

“I haven’t really been hearing any talk of any guys really leaving, but I would most definitely try to encourage guys to stay, because if you want to have a good team, you just can’t have guys running in and running out,” Richardson said.

“I’m going to talk to guys. If anybody’s thinking about it, just talk to them and be like, ‘Hey, we’ve got to man up. This is still our school. We’ve got business to take care of next year — try to win a championship or get to a bowl game — and this is what we signed up for.’”

When are you guys gonna pull the trigger?

Latest I am getting about AU. The chances of Gene Chizik returning to Auburn for 2013 are approaching remote at this point. I've heard even more about Petrino lately. The grassroots support for him is growing at an impressive pace. Gus Malzahn also is in the picture. The sense is that he may be a fall-back in the event bigger names fall through, but Malzahn has some first-choice support as well.

Some of the Auburn old guard, most notably Pat Dye, has been pushing Kirby Smart's name during the past few days. He's never been a head coach.

The Jeff Fisher chatter from a few weeks back was legitimate. Fisher's general manager with the St. Louis Rams, former Auburn player Les Snead, has been approached by unofficial AU representatives. They weren't rebuffed.

Jimbo Fisher's potential candidacy is less likely today than it was two weeks ago. He's a win against Georgia Tech or Duke away from a BCS berth, which will consolidate support in Tallahassee. Any good agent keeps his client in a stable, strong revenue stream. Fisher's agent, Jimmy Sexton, is better than good.

247 with more info on the coaching search: Wes is hearing that Tee Martin has been contacted by Jon Gruden about a potential job on his staff.

Interesting. I remember reading an article about him leading up to the season. Talking about how he was finally 100% healthy and thought he could contribute...then nothing.

I ay all wrong on this, but it appeared throughout the season that Bray and Dooley may have had some issues with one another. With Dooley out of the way, maybe Bray goes into the game with a positive attitude.

I wonder how many more of our players who have been benched all year will get an opportunity to play this Saturday?
