I wonder if Lane Kiffin will screw us again - if he loses again he could very well get canned at USCw - no doubt USCw is a big boy job in a big boy city - do you think we get left at the altar if the USCw job comes open?

I think it would be a dumb decision to get rid of him with the restrictions on the horizon.

247 said this morning that Strong would prefer UT over Arkansas and Auburn if approaced with the option of taking one of the three jobs, from "multiple sources."

247 is expecting the new coach to be announced officially at some point in mid-December. They've heard from "multiple sources" that it could take 2-4 weeks, but anything before that would obviously be fine.

Mora is just working for a raise nothing more. Plus you cant really judge him on one year. What happens when he comes out and gets spanked next year?

That's really encouraging especially if Gruden is a no-go. I would not mind Strong

247 speculating a ton here...trying to take advantage of coaching search and get more subscribers. Look for 247 to provide a lot of information that can never be proven to be true or false over the next couple weeks. They know nothing.

Trust me, I know. 247 does a really good job with player interviews and analysis. However, when it comes to inside info. at UT specifically, they are always on the outside looking in. Hubbs is where to go.

There's no way TN pulls a top 5 class this year, unless they kick a bunch of recruits to the side for higher ranked ones. There's not enough spots left to pick up enough points

With a new coach who can attract quality talent, that is exactly what we should do to improve this roster.

Coaching dominos starting to fall: First it was Joker Phillips at Kentucky, then Derek Dooley at Tennessee. With John L. Smith also out at Arkansas at the end of the year and Gene Chizik on the hot seat, the SEC could have four coaching vacancies as soon as next weekend. The results could lead a number of dominoes falling in recruiting. Teams are already starting to target recruits, and Auburn's class is pretty appealing to many assistants around the conference. Also, if Tennessee or Arkansas can pull in a big name (i.e. Jon Gruden) the hunted might quickly turn into the hunters. Both schools are having average years in recruiting and still have open spots, so the lure of early playing time and a big-time coach could allow the Vols or the Hawgs to pluck a few prospects away from their rivals.

The offensive line is going to meet with Dave Hart this week to vouch for Coach Pittman keeping his job, per Brent Hubbs.

I just don't see how you can hire a coach that wants to bring in his own people, and say hey, you have to fit these people on your staff...

Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't that be the new coaches decision and not Dave Hart's?

Could very well be. This is nothing more than the OL fighting to keep their coach. There's no guarantee that Hart will listen.

Yes I think it should. They shouldn't hamstring the process by demanding this or that coach be kept. I feel VERY strongly about CJG and think he should stay but ultimately it will be up to the new HC about everyone.

Hart addressed that yesterday saying that it would be totally up to the new coach to decide. Hart said that he felt that this is the way it should be and that responsibility will be on the HC (if it doesn't work out).

Timeline for Gruden announcement is November 30 (earliest) to December 18 (latest).

I gotta give you credit you really work hard for the Likes and stick with it. I hope you are right this time and its not another 3 amigos situation because you are going to get blasted to hades and back if this doesnt happen. :hi:

It's a message board. I doubt he cares.

You mean that it's too good to be true that a guy posting on a free message board has contacts inside the AD, with Boosters, with current players and on both the old and offseason revamped coaching staff?

Apparently 247 (Rucker) has confirmed that Gruden has contacted Bissacia to gauge his interest in joining him at UT. All this is based solely on the assumption he decides to take the job.
