i dont think the insiders were wrong. Kirby could certainly be the guy Hart was targeting on the AD side until like he said "opinionated people" told him otherwise. I think its safe to assume it will be a head coach, not a coordinator.

My point us that there are no insiders anymore since Dave Hart took over and cleaned out the good ole boy leakers.

i could agree with that to some extent. I think Hart has played it close, but at the same time, i worry that he is not committed to the university as many think. seems like these challenges are going to be tough to overcome, and he is doubting Cheek's commitment to bringing UT to the SEC elites.

How do you see it that way from what Hart said in the press conference? Did Hart not say to who knows how many media and fans that were listening that he was committed to removing the "competitive disadvantages"? He also made a point that the Chancellor was on board with this.

Does anyone recall any recent coaching searches that didn't involve a searching firm? How unusual is that, or is it?

Also, if one of our coaching targets is currently coaching a team that will be playing in a bowl, how would all that work? Can Hart contact the coach as long as he has permission from the coaches AD or is a coach completely restricted from talking to other schools until his season is finished?

Basically, would a sitting coach be allowed to speak with Hart re interest or would that have to be handled through agents or whatnot?

It's a huge crossroads like he said. This next coach that he hires is putting his stamp on the program. I was very surprised at how frank he was at addressing the concerns we have at UT. Didn't think he would do that.

I think either he has his guy. Or he is experienced enough to go get his guy without adding a team of 12 to the equation. He could be told what to do, but sounds like a very stand up guy.

And how does that equate to him not being as committed to the university as we may think?

Just like the poor employee at the lightbulb shop, right?

I'll take what the players are saying, not what Internet insiders like yourself are saying.

Sup, SigNu?

Your avatars are the kiss of death! Please don't put the next HC as your new avi. Maybe a Bama avi. That would help things.

Thanks.

I'm open to suggestions, man!

However, Sunseri is still here. I have to make sure he's gone before I change.

I think (and THIS IS MY OPINION), that anyone in his position would question how much he could accomplish there given what barriers he is facing. He mentioned the challenges which I thought in this setting was very candid. This next hire is huge for him.

He did state that all hurdles would be cleared. That was nice to hear

That's fine. But i've seen more than a handful of former players (who played under Dooley) applaud his firing.

La. Tech players didn't like him either.

It does seem like a lot of former players (whether they played for DD or not) were not a big fan of his. Heard several stories about DD denying access to practice & the program in general.
