I don't want Mora. That guy is an ass. If he'll leave UCLA for us, he'll leave us for the next big thing, too.

The only other realistic hire (i.e...not Carroll or Cowher) that will have any "big splash" factor to it is Stoops. And I'm not certain he's the really the best coach for us.

Gruden seems light years more realistic than Mora or Stoops. I suppose anything is possible though.

here's my, albeit unrealistic, criteria for a head coach if hart wants to get this football program back on its feet:

(1) if it's someone at the collegiate level then they need to have more than 1 year as a head coach and at least played in (and preferably won) a major conference championship. I guess a prior nat'l championship would work too...

(2) if it's someone at the nfl ranks then they need to have been a head coach or coordinator with a team that they've taken to the playoffs at least 1 year. A super bowl ring would do too...

So that should narrow the absurd lists that everyone's throwing around with golden, smart, strong, etc.

UCLA sucked last season and USC beat them 50-0. They are 9-2 this season and beat USC handily. It's a pretty good accomplishment!

I agree. I would be thrilled with Gruden or Stoops. Both could get UT off the mat quickly. If it is an up and comer they better bring in a heck of a supporting cast. Almost anything will be better than what we saw last night. I just hope who/whatever is decided, it is done correctly and well thought out. Having to make a rushed decision after Kiffin left is what help get things to this point.
