Official Jon Gruden Thread VIII

I'm sticking with what the OG's have said and since there has been no "official" offering of the job, the AD can say no deal is in place.

This. If folks on here are correct and it is Gruden (I do believe), then the boosters are running the show until now.

If the boosters aren't running the show, then Hart and Cheek have crapped the bed on this already, we will all be very disappointed in this hire, and we might as well just get used to games like tonight and find something better to do with our time and money.

Now, I'm not saying Gruden is the only coach that can turn this thing around or that will bring some excitement. However, if the AD and university are in charge, I have zero confidence. For the life of me, as bad as things are, I can't imagine the mega boosters are allowing the university and AD to run the show. This is why I believe.

Top notch

You know what's weird? I am not that upset about just this particular game. I knew this was going to happen. Knew it weeks ago. I posted weeks ago that we were in real danger of losing 8 games for the first time ever. Most everybody told me I was crazy. :cray: Only good thing is our suffering is almost at an end. After next week is over we can probably say that it will never be this bad again. Maybe the team will be fired up enough next week to actually show up and play, since they will know they are going to get a better coaching staff. I almost think Bray and a few others threw this game on pupose.:cray:

I thought they were throwing the game from the middle of the 2nd qtr. on through the end.

101 % Gruden but be real... even if a coach is fired.. "I Will Give My All For Tennessee " ?? Players didn't step up against our biggest rival..Flame away but at some point do you have any personal pride ??... Disappointed by the effort..Go Vols !!

I've talked to a lot of old players in the last few weeks. To a person, they all make the point that there are not enough people on the sidelines that are "Tennessee" guys.

Please recognize that this is not a call for nepotism, but I do think they have a point. Tonight, there were very few people on our sidelines that were interested in winning that game, but I bet the house that Jay Graham was.

And I'm not as upset about us losing. I was expecting that, and was largely indifferent at this point in the season. My main reason for my rant was Alabama being back in play for the national title.

UT should let Escape Goat, Sam, and the rest of the night shift handle the Dooley TV show tomorrow. It would be much better that way.
