No...but it's coming!

She is a VaTech alum so she knows the importance of football to a culture

My best friend's wife is also a Hokie. He's a UT grad. The UT gene is dominant. She's All Vol, but I think she was pulling for VPI in our latest matchup in the Georgia Dome.

Sorry.

I tend to look at the bright side. Just on face value, he's saying Gruden has not said no...yet.

Seems obvious that UT is really trying to get him.

And the best part, they are talking to other potential candidates so if Gruden says no they aren't standing there with no options.

Not directed at you personally - just overall.

I get it - I am on the Gruden train but also understand that past history dictates future success in most cases. He has shown more interest than committment in the last several years.

does that mean it can't change? certainly not!

Take this with a grain of salt, but I know somebody who gets his hair cut by the same guy who cuts Hart's hair. After some casual haircutter-haircuttee talk, my source tells me this bomb was dropped. The papers are already signed and checks written. Gruden is ours. This guy knew about the Dooley hire approx. 3 days before the announcement was made. He said that Gruden was our first choice then, but we low-balled him. This time, Dave-o isn't letting Chuckie get away from him. No word on numbers, but apparently the Athletic Department is just biding their time, waiting to see if we can get a win over Candybilt before they make it official.

I've been going gangam style since I heard.

Couldn't wait to share it with Vol Nation.

so Hart hasn't told anyone but chose to share the most closely guarded secret in the AD with his loose-lipped barber?

not picking on you, just saying...

Nothing like good ol' salon gossip.

Been married 15. Feel your pain

Only the right coaching change could reinvigorate our marriage. As my wife is a Gator, our relationship went a little bit like this:

The first few years we were together UT beat UF, so it was really fun.

The middle few years it was still enough of a game to make things interesting with little bets being made with favors going to the winner.

Now, after 8 years of misery we just sit in different rooms and quietly watch the game...

Seems a little bit like the arc the rest of our relationship has taken too.

Call me naive but I think that most of the dozens of people on here who post "inside" information probably wholeheartedly believe every single word they are posting. I think that those who post false information knowingly, are in the minority.

That is what makes this even harder for me is knowing that so many people actually believe every single word that they type. It is hard to interrogate a person like that because they don't mean any harm, even if their story makes absolutely no sense. And pressing these people for more information usually leaves them insulted and backing off.

Trying to find "good" information here is like panning for gold. Odds are you won't find any, but you got to spend a few hours believing you are about to strike it rich.

EDIT: I don't mean to offend the "insiders". I believe some of you truly are.

Rule of thumb that I have found useful:

Those posting very specific details(dates, times, $$$, etc) GENERALLY are FOS....not all the time. Another red flag for me is when they almost go overkill on convincing others that they are legit or to believe their info. See that every day.

Folks with legit info tend to be more vague and general. They usually know more, but won't throw it out publicly. They are even hesitant to talk privately to folks they are unfamiliar with, but might share more privately. It's a trust thing that must be built, and that takes time and concrete examples that the person can be trusted. If they did otherwise, they wouldn't continue to get info.

It's a crap shoot that is fluid. Even those you think might be legit can turn out not to be. Each person has to use their own judgements. No one can make the decision who to believe and who not to believe for them. Most legit folks, in my experiences, do not give one whit whether folks believe them or not because they have what they want, information, and aren't looking for anything in return.

As always- imo, jmo, tifwiw, gbfo, vfl and the like.

Guess he must have been Hamilton's barber, too.

Pete Roussel said Arkansas has offered Gary Patterson.

Have they started up Pattersonville and announced a presser for Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, sometime between daylight and dark or dark and daylight?

My wife was in a bad mood last night, and as I looked away From my phone I asked, "what's wrong baby?"

She said,"you're always on that damn phone."

I said, "ok"

I then handed her the mason jar of peach shine (store bought)

do you know your likes are at 666.... I now don't trust you

yeah well my source - CSS's Ball Waxer - says that the D is gonna rise up this weekend and crush Vandy and they are currently negotiating contract extensions.

With all that time spent...you could get your own damn sources.

I think you are a bright guy and I enjoy the back and forth...I had a fun run in with you when you were defending Dooley's record.

Maybe if you weren't so smug you would get better results. Instead you insult while you're asking for info. You want to tell me what I don't really know while you are trying to find out what I do know. It is fun for a while, but it does get tiresome.

Spot on.

I left the board for a good while for this very reason. I am not claiming "insider" status, mind you.

You are a good husband to put up with her being a gator fan. LOL! Deal breaker IMO

I'm as confident as ever. Have heard from the same person consistently that this is done. Can't wait guys. It's gonna be a fun next few years.

Sound advice. I tend to agree with all points.

The avalanche of information is the part of the reason that I frequent this board, I want so badly to believe.

It is the same reason that some people watch MSNBC or Fox news (or insert whatever supposedly biased news organization that you want here). People are looking for affirmation not information.
