Might as well be a top 2 with that group. UA is recruiting him as an athlete and he wants to go to a school that only wants him as a RB.

Kid is crazy if he thinks Meyer will keep him at RB. If that's the case UF would have had Derrick Henry and James Wilder locked down before he quit. Nothing but sauce.

If he was looking for this type of back, he would have Derrick Green.

I think UA sees him as a DB. Even though UA has Bo who will probably end up at WR and he has even said he thinks WR may be his best position in college, we should get Thomas and no way if there is a chance to pull Fournette would we risk taking Hurd as anything other than an ATH. And UA will probably not land Fournette either. Both UA also has Vickers and Michel looking that may be better RBs in college.

Good friends with several of the coaches at Beech, and when I say good friends I mean we have been friends since kindergarten. Immediately after the game Friday, I called my buddy to talk to him about Jalen. According to him, and he IS a prominent member of the coaching staff, Jalen's got a dislocated shoulder. He should be out a while. I also asked him about Jalen and where he wants to go to school. He said, " Jalen is keeping his options open at this point. He gives 'leaders' because he has people calling him everyday and this is only the beginning. I don't expect him to choose a school anytime in the near future."

Spot on. Beech doesn't play this Friday and Jalen probably won't play the week after that so we'll see how long he's out, but as I've said many times, Jalen's recruiting is in the stage of what you would expect for a junior in high school. He's enjoying getting to see all of the schools and going to some games on UOVs. Overall we can speculate all we want but we won't know until about this time next year, if even then.

His top schools are OSU, UF, and UA in that order. He seems to be in love with Coach Meyer and all he did for UF and what he is currently doing at OSU. Through the whole Rivals article, it never mentioned UT once with him....

K...

Jalen was more of a decoy last Friday night against Gallatin. Beech is overall a very good team, and it seems that they are wanting to rest him up for the playoffs.

I think in the end he may very well sign with the Vols if the Vols bring in a big time coach. At this point, I'm not as sure as some that's going to happen. It will be interesting to watch Jalen in Nov/Dec. I'm excited :)

We definitely have a shot, but as of now we're falling behind. We still have a whole season and a third of football to make up ground we've lost but a lot of it will have to do with where we are at this time next year.

Nothing ground breaking, but just heard Jalen wants to be at UT. However, we had some set backs with him and aren't at the top. Apparently took Bama off the list for wanting to change his position. So as long as we get a decent coach that will play him where he wants then i'd say the chances of landing him next year are pretty good.

I've heard quite the opposite. Hopefully you're right though, cause I really don't want him at Ohio State or Florida.

I was told he was at a couple of UT games and DD would not even speak to him. Just putting that out there.

Ut has definitely slid a bit in his rankings, but good news he is completely undecided (he has favorites but that can change) and he still has a whole year to go before he needs to worry about making a decision.

On a side note this Friday's playoff game will be a showdown between Hurd and Jalen Reeves-Maybin and I expect there to be A LOT of yardage between the two.

Honestly I think a coaching change helps our chances with him. I know I said he wants to be at UT, but right now he needs a reason to be. We are on his list but not at the top right now and if something doesn't change I think we will start falling further back. Hopefully the next staff will make him a priority.

Hurd goes down scored TD & 2 pt conversion. JRM goes 60 on the 3rd play to make it 8-7.
