If you weren't talking about recruiting than I have no idea why you were quoting my post that is talking about recruiting. Has his defense struggled? Yes, but he has also only had two full recruiting classes since the disaster that was Steve Kragthorpe and you can't turn chicken sh!t into chicken soup. He has brought in some good players to that defense though these past two years which only an idiot could deny. It is also kind of hard to beat any good teams when you don't have the opportunity to beat good teams. As far as recruiting goes, he has averaged 35.5 in his two full recruiting classes at Louisville. I'm never count the first recruiting class with any coach as he is likely hired in a December or January and only has a month or two to put his mark on the class making it not a fair assessment on his recruiting ability. Also, this recruiting class is not over yet and is not a fair assessment as he has plenty of slots left to fill and move up. In his two complete recruiting classes though, he has finished top in his conference once and second in his conference the other time behind rugters who always pulls good classes due to a strong instate talent base. Can't expect a coach to do much better when he is recruiting to the big east, in a state that does not have that much talent, to one of the most unimpressive campuses that I have stepped foot on. Everywhere he has been though whether it has been Notre Dame, South Carolina, or Florida he has recruited players that he has then put into the NFL.
