I thought so as well but that would be very odd. Anybody remember that happening in recent memory?? I don't

I dont remember anything like that.

I think its more likely to name an interim to coach the bowl and let the new coach start recruiting.

Agreed.

I am nearly certain that OHS had a full staff plus UM recruiting during the bowl prep. Am I correct???

I know they had an interim but it was all year and I am sure they filled the other coaching slot or the year making them full

Yes.

I was thinking those were special circumstances with the NCAA trouble and all

They got a waiver to allow um to recruit. As I said I think 10 other coaches handled the bowl prep. The NCAA issues wouldn't have helped them get that waiver

JMO, but it seems to me that if Dooley has really lost the team, as many have indicated today, then our best chance at a bowl game is to can him now. I don't see how him staying our HC increases our shot at a bowl one bit. Several posters have hit on what I think the best course would be, firing Dooley now and letting the players focus on finishing their season with wins instead of saddled with all the hotseat distractions.

Not to mention, Dooley obviously is phoning it in at this point.
