Official Jon Gruden Thread VI

At this point it is almost a question that goes without asking. I will say I have never heard a single player directly bash Dooley, but the same cannot be said for those very close to them. Friends, family, etc....

Let me clarify, former Vol and parent. He did not have one nice thing to say. In fact, I've never heard him speak the way about someone like he did Dooley.

No, nor their families.

That seemed pretty evident just from the reaction he got when he brought the FG unit on the field at the end of the 1st half. I have been critical of Bray-especially towards the end of last year and after the Florida game this year, but I have taken a lot of it back. I actually feel sorry for him wasting his time under Dooley, and think he should leave for the NFL if Dooley is back.

Do you get that sense from him and his family-that playing for Dooley has put them behind the 8 ball in terms of what could have been accomplished here?

Knowing what I know, I fear this is just people talking "big". I do not doubt the story, but I know Tyler's family and if they knew something they would have said it in my presence this past weekend when we were all talking about it around them. Tyler's parents have not been in Knoxville since the Bama game and do not plan to return until Kentucky.

As were talking about it around Tyler's family this weekend what was their take... did they acknowledge anything or just say they didn't know anything?

ok Like I said last time I posted I'm not a insider but do know a couple of big time Boosters Via Owner of the Car Dealership My dad is head salesman for. Dad just called me and said his boss Told him he talked to Tyler Brays dad and he told them that if Dooleys Stayed Bray, Hunter, and Patterson were gone Period. Tyler's dad told him Thats as of now Gruden was Coming for 38 Million either 5 or 6 years Contract.

Brays dad said if it went through Bray and hunter would stay not sure on Patterson but he would be leaning to stay if Gruden Contract went through. Said deal was not signed but was Verbal offer and would be decided on all details for sure in December. I'm no troll just passing on what I was just told after it was passed by the Owner of the Dealership after the conversation took place. Maybe be true may not I don't know what to believe anymore but this man has never lied to me in my life. He also said they were trying to keep it as quite as possible in case it fell through.

I heard a VERY similar thing from someone who talked directly to the Bray family a few weeks ago!!

I can tell you from talking with a longtime neighbor who is a former Vol and close family friend at the Bama game, that the majority of the team does not respect Dooley.

How could they? I just hope their issues with Dooley do not extend towards other coaches such as Hinshaw, Chaney, Graham, or Pittman.

I find it quite interesting that when the players are ask if they are playing to save Dooley, most will say they are "playing for the team" or some other answer that could easily be interpreted as "no"

No family member of any player of the team knows any more About this situation that what they might read on here. The players and family members will know at exactly the same time we know and perhaps after.

It doesn't. These guys are playing for each other and the coaches you've listed. They are fed up with Sal's in-your-face stuff because he's not teaching any type of fundamentals in practice.

Is the Erik Ainge Show live right now, or is this a repeat of this morning's show? This is usually the Treece Show time slot, right?

Don't necessarily agree in all cases. You've got some parents who are former players and still very big boosters that have a lot of knowledge about what's going on behind the scenes.

I think there's some smoke swirling in last few threads players don't respect dooley very believable, players respect dooley not believable imo what say you vn? I don't think he has anyones respect

Which isn't Anything more than we read on here. They will hear things that aren't true and some that are. Remember palardy?

and the fact that they all give the same response says that they have been told to answer that way or have at least agreed to address it in that fashion.

I am fairly certain Carson Anderson and his father know quite a bit about the situation. And if you are a player, you get talked to by boosters and others involved in the process whether you ask for it or not...

Honestly-good for them. Glad to know they are not tuning out coaches like Pittman, Graham, and Chaney-coaches that I see as only trying to help young football players improve and be put in positions to win. I have always had respect for how these guys in particular "coach"-same went for Wilcox.

No doubt about Sal. Whenever I'm not at the games and watching at home I just sarcastically plea for him to yell more. You can't act like that (and Dooley does it as well) when you have not earned respect.

I am sure Tylers Bray's dad could talk to just about any booster he wanted to. You don't think they would tell him anything?

Must have been on the phone, Tyler's parents haven't been here since Alabama and arent coming back until Kentucky. Last time I talked to anyone in Tylers family no one knew anything. This was Saturday, but not his parents. I will say that most likely Tyler, CP, Hunter, and 3 Off Linemen are gone. Basically the image I get is that anyone projected 3rd round or higher will enter the draft. It is possible Gruden could change that, but I do not think it would imo. Tyler should go early 2nd round, JH first round, and CP late first to early second.

CP is going first round, top 15.

Sure they could say anything. They do say anything that is evidenced in this thread. They aren't always correct

I do. And I understand what you're saying. I know one former player (played in the 80s) and his family and my family are essentially extended familes to each other. He is still very active in the booster scene and I trust what he tells me. He can't stand Dooley, the players can't stand Dooley. Pittman, Graham, Hinshaw, and Cheney deserve all the credit for this offense not telling the D to F off and to keep putting points up on the board. This season would look a whole lot worse without them.
