They won't let him switch DC's 3 years in a row.. If they do anything they're going to make a clean break..

Rex is the Gruden dream dead?.... Missed it... How so.... Not being a smart a$$ just wondering.

I believe that there is a lot of misinformation out there and done so intentionally.....could be the case....may not be.... Would understand why Hart would contain this until end of season and why no one is in the know.....

As long as Cheek is here, you can forget a Gruden type hire unless more control is given to Hart. noone worth his salt will step into this situation, atleast Dooley had the balls to tackle it knowing what he was stepping into

Exactly. If you can Sunseri after one sesason, then you have to can Dooley as well. You can't argue for Dooley needing more time if you only give Sunseri one year. Not to mention if you get yet another DC, then Dooley has a built in excuse for next season.

I have a feeling this offseason is going to royally suck.

It has been written by a very reliable insider elsewhere that Strong isnt an option

can you elaborate? i have not seen that.

i'm confident that we are going to dump mizzou and/or vandy. regardless, CDD needs to be gone.

however, if firing him now means bringing in another headcoach-in-diapers, i say keep him one more season while the mess with hart and cheek gets squared away.
both options are painful but the latter might get rectified more quickly.

I believe that it might indeed be the curse of the wooooo. Players hear that sissified version and immediately turn into cupcakes.

nothing to elaborate really, just a poster on another board that is an actual true insider stated this.

If we keep Dooley there is no way Sal survives. That will cost the program$1.5 million for his buyout. Given the undeniable fact that Dooley is hanging by a thread no matter what, who could he get to replace Sal? The entire coaching fraternity knows the Doolander is living on borrowed time. Not to mention that it would be the third defensive system in three years. What would happen is that the Vols would end up having to overpay someone that wasnt the best choice anyway (see the Sal hire).

Obviously the only logical choice for Hart is to just make a clean break and let the Doolander go. The Gruden dream is dead, but even if Smart is the only choice the program simply cannot afford to let him have another year. I honestly believe that we will lose again and that will seal the deal making Hart's job much easier. After what they did Saturday if wouldnt surprise me to see the Vols fall to Vandy. Another thing to consider; how many folks will be there for KY, 50K? Less?

This from Basilio surprised me today;

That cant be true, can it?

Is this the curse of the Woooooo? Are we doomed to this sort of dysfunction until we remove the woooo from Rocky Top?

Hart's interference in the least of my worries. Barnhart didn't want to fire Joker either. His sphere of influence is very limited in the end.

For those of u blaming SAL. If we do only fire DC, and keep CDD, what DC in their right mind would come to TN, knowing DD is standing on the other side of the fence? DD should have bbeen fired last year when he lost over hlaf of his staff because they saw the writing on the wall. But why fire DD now? we still got chance to go to bowl game and get paid. IMO we lose 2 of next 3 games, but still, why turn a potential bowl winning season in a throwback? If we were going into an off-week, i can see, then we'd have at least 2 weeks to go back to a 4-3, and settle the players. ridding DD of the HC job would only further deteriorate the situation, but... I would have already called a search firm.. hell I would have called them aafter the GA game. just in case

Both must go if Tennessee Football survives...someone must stop the genocide!

Can you define instant?? Is it more than 3 years? Because the last 3 years have sucked... a lot.

This, This, This.

If "Instant Gratification" is expecting a decent SEC win in year 3 then most of us are guilty. The majority of the board was fine with a pass the first 2 years, results should be expected at this point.

Starting to think Hart is a Foxhole Norman. Only thing worse than a bad decision is no decision.
