Has anyone looked at the stats for the Offense? We are leading in receiving and Passing every week except the Bye week. Are they really going to get rid of Dooley, or just replace the Defensive coordinator?

There is a lot more to it than just offensive numbers. Special teams has also been a cluster most of the season. Defensive secondary is just God awful. I think we have tried just about every D backfield player we have on the roster and they all suck equally. Take a peek at recruiting also, not going well.

Dooley is done and Gruden is coming SOON.

But it's very interesting to note that Tennessee's annual Board of Trustees meeting is upcoming next weekend, and there are some key topic points that will have both direct and indirect impact on UT's athletics department.

First, there is the review of a "performance and retention" plan for executive officers. That includes many, from Jimmy Cheek on down.

Additionally, and perhaps of more importance, is this: There is a proposed amendment of the UT-UTFI affiliation and services agreement to change the reporting line for athletics departments personnel in Knoxville. Right. Layman's terms: UTFI is the abbreviation for the University of Tennessee Foundation Incorporated. So, either more unilateral control will be granted to the athletic department development, or athletic development would be totally absorbed under its wing. Presently, the Athletic Department is listed as a separate office.

That would leave us in a rough spot... I am trusting Dooley coaches like he has so far and if so we may not win another game

I do not have a lot of confidence in him/them either...

I really think a long term decision has been made.... I believe it is just a wait and see game to find out what the actual decision was......

I am still not sold on they will not use an interim coach if/when they release CDD....

I hate to say it as it will not be popular, but I would not be surprised if we ended up with an interim coach at least part of the year next year also (hopefully not the whole year though) if CDD is released.....

You already know what I was told as you had heard the same thing.....

Again my timeline does not match anyone else's though... I can not say any of it is true or not true... All I can say is what I was told....

For what it's worth from aubs board.

UT has been in touch with Gruden several times over the past month or so. JG has told UT that there were four things that had to be done. UT has begun to set the wheels in motion. Gruden has contacted former vol WR coach Kippy Brown and Tee Martin at USC. Gruden would keep Jay Graham as well. Also, there are plans to remove Jimmy Cheech.

That is from a solid poster in the recruiting forum. Any idea about the 4 things?

this would be like christmas and a red rider bbgun

Hopefully, The AD will be given unilateral control. They pay there own way anyway plus they give UT $$$$$$$.

If the football program isn't healthy at UT the university isn't healthy. The program needs the academic support to succeed. If Cheek can't do it, we need to get someone that can.

With Hubbs being very conservative with his reporting, it is telling that he saying this on the air about the chancellor.

Thanks for the updates.

It's his fault knowing that you cannot afford to lose the next season and decided to switch to a 3-4... That is his fault ultimately he is the head coach. Sunseri is Dooley's Clawfence

Fulmer had a Claw-son curse. It wasn't just the Bowling Green coach but Casey, Ricky and anyone else by that name.

How many times do we have to answer the same question... YES Dooley is gone... get over it!!!!

He is responsible for both sides of the ball... He is the football coach hired to win the Big game

HE HAS FAILED... The sooner the better

No need to yell. I haven't read everything so I didn't know people asked the same question. Also, I'm on the boat that wants Gruden, but if we can't get him, then I don't want to settle for someone. I'd much prefer to keep Dooley and try to get someone who can actually coach defense, then to make another five year mistake.

I think it is code for...unless Gruden feels like he will have the full support to build a winning program...he isn't coming.

If they replace the DC and Dooley is back there's no way they would be able to get a good DC to come here knowing the situation with Dooley.

The football program is the nucleus of UT.

It is very important to the university...

It is also very important to the general economy of K-Town and that part of the state..... A lot of people do not realize how important it is when they show the stadium and K-Town on national TV...:hi:

You are tho only other person who has heard that so I just don't know... I marked it down as wishful thinking and had not posted it until today... so who knows...

Very evident to me Dooley is gone win or loose

Started in another thread, but aside from athletics the purpose of a land grant University is to provide opportunity for citizens of the state to get an education.

I'm not saying you have to sacrifice all your standards, but serving the interest of your state's population should absolutely come first.

Don't mean to be a butt... We just keep answering the same things all day long Sorry if I was offensive... besides you are a Vol and it's all good
