Not a chance... Mizzlou and Vandy BOTH have better D's than Troy and ky will be playing their last game for their coach and pride... we may not win any

For what it's worth from aubs board.

UT has been in touch with Gruden several times over the past month or so. JG has told UT that there were four things that had to be done. UT has begun to set the wheels in motion. Gruden has contacted former vol WR coach Kippy Brown and Tee Martin at USC. Gruden would keep Jay Graham as well. Also, there are plans to remove Jimmy Cheech.

That is from a solid poster in the recruiting forum. Any idea about the 4 things?

Has anyone looked at the stats for the Offense? We are leading in receiving and Passing every week except the Bye week. Are they really going to get rid of Dooley, or just replace the Defensive coordinator?

I've heard about Gruden contacting Tee Martin and that he would keep Jay Graham..

Not sure about Cheek.:unsure:

Dooley is coach of both Defense and Offence...

I don't know about the assistants. Ask OCI- no, dude, that's not a swipe at you either.

I have heard multiple places that Cheek is on borrowed time. He hasn't endeared himself to very many if any of the power players especially the Haslams (not my words). If that's the case, it's not good to have the governor and his billionaire family against you. Also from the same person: his attempt to meddle in the coaching situation sealed his fate.

I don't think you can over state how important a president who supports athletics is to a football program in the SEC. Need every advantage we can get.

One thing I don't understand: is the thought of hiring one of these coaches. Carroll, Meyer, Stoops.
Correct me if I am wrong, but many posters on TN forums, bashed Stoops for not being able to win the big game. Carroll left USCw in sanctions, and Meyer is a dbag. They are all better coaches than what we have, but IMO, we have better options than those three. I will stay with the Gruden option untill it is not an option. :twocents:

Carroll is about to get a huge extension at Seattle. Meyer's dream job was Ohio State, and Bob Stoops can't win the big game and has the most over rated teams in the history of College football.

Dooley chose that defensive coordinator, so Dooley is ultimately responsible, IMO. If they let Dooley simply replace the defensive coordinator, then what happens if he makes another bad hire? Does that buy Dooley another year to make another replacement? Dooley is responsible for Sunseri.

Is Tee really that good of a coach/recruiter that Gruden would want him that bad? Not slighting Tee, just haven't followed him all that closely since he started coaching.

Yeah, I can't understand why people kept bringing up their names. I wouldn't consider them as home run hires for UT. JMO

It's his fault knowing that you cannot afford to lose the next season and decided to switch to a 3-4... That is his fault ultimately he is the head coach. Sunseri is Dooley's Clawfence

How many times do we have to answer the same question... YES Dooley is gone... get over it!!!!

He is responsible for both sides of the ball... He is the football coach hired to win the Big game

HE HAS FAILED... The sooner the better
