I agree. Denial from either party would only fuel the rumor...see Nick Saban with the Dolphins as the most relevant example.

Their situation was a little different. Saban said no and Ala i think after the first no offered Rich Rod and he accepted. Then before the presser changed his mind then they kept after Saban after being turned down Rich Rod, Mike Riley and numerous others. Kind of like our last search. Can you imagine where Ala would be if Rich Rod hadnt changed his mind? Where would Saban be and Ala wouldnt have won 2 NC's

Yeah, I read that too. That was from the guy who lives over in the basketball forum.

One would think if that was true, it would have broke on the major wire services by now. That was a week ago.

Just post in the Official Gruden thread and discuss it there. The Cliff notes is just a summary of key posts from there (and maybe a few posts in other threads but related to the Dooley/Gruden situation).

Notes are great--great idea. The main Gruden thread is a train wreck and I'm not generally a big thread organization guy.

I am buying in on the strength of the adamant testimony of about a dozen long-time posters who have always seemed credible. If doesn't hurt that they have good grammar and don't use the phrase "book it."

Yea he's a BB guy but a very reliable poster in that forum so don't think he would make something like that up. I don't know him personally but he seems legit to me.

But, if Cindy's mom is telling people that...then some news hound would have been knocking on her front door last week.
