The last MNF is on Saturday Dec. 22nd. If Gruden is on the job Dec. 23rd does he have enough time to assemble his staff and hit the ground running on the recruiting trail? My hope is that a "Homerun hire" with name recognition will keep the class together and maybe convince some to come. Thoughts?

Pretty sure Dec 22nd would be during the dead period around the bowl games when no one is allowed to contact recruits.

Apparently, posters on VQ are alluding to the fact that Gruden has been in contact with coaches that all have past ties to UT. Kevin Steele apparently isn't the only one.

Supposedly the last time MNF was in Atlanta for the Broncos game Majors flew down and had a meeting-dinner with Gruden.

Gruden has been burning up the lines calling potential staff. This is not hearsay. This is media reported fact. Furthermore he was doing it at least two weeks before the media started reporting it.

Yep. I knew that this was going down but never heard any concrete names until this morning.

Haven't heard of Sanders..I don't venture over to the recruiting forum much.

Many have reported this and I dont call anyone a liar, but with everyone having a cell phone camera these days, how have pics of him in town not surfaced?

Also, I am confused about whether or not UT is waiting on Gruden, or if he(as reported by some last week) has verbally agreed to coach UT but UT is waiting to release DD.

Also, I am confused about whether or not UT is waiting on Gruden, or if he(as reported by some last week) has verbally agreed to coach UT but UT is waiting to release DD.

I think just about everyone here is in this boat and there are a number or reasons as you mentioned above - which comes first - the chicken or the egg.

If we are trying to hold onto the info that Gruden has agreed to a deal until the season is over, I'm not sure they can keep that under wraps for another month.

Let's think about this, a potential staff with Gruden(HC,qb's playcaller), Graham(rb's), Tee(wr's), Steele(lb's), Zook.(dc) . UT fans get plenty of UT ties with experience and recruitng chops. Good grief, just imagine. I actually think Chavis would come to be DC if Gruden hired Steele as LB coach.

Nothing is signed. If it is Gruden there are likely things left to iron out. If it is Gruden we are likely on his schedule. I don't think Hart makes a move without 100% certainty on another coach.
