We aren't only working with hiring an ESPN analyst with outside advertising contracts, we are also firing a coach. I cannot imagine the minutia of the details involved....or the drastic changes that accompany the willingness to hire the highest paid coach in college football.

Agreed. A minor renovation to a building can have a timeline that changes two or three times over the course from conception to completion. It should be no surprise that some posters' perceived deadlines were not fulfilled. Means very little in the scheme. The actual timing of the execution does mean everything. I am sure players in the game are moving very very carefully at this point. Something could happen and even blow it all up I am sure.

So instead of people posting that, its a done deal?

I don't think...I said think...that Gruden has said no....

There was a time I was convinced that some type of agreement had been reached. I spoke to a wise fellow yesterday..UT has never allowed coaches to do any kind of national commercials. Along those same lines, it is a HUGE culture shift in the program that we don't try to hire a coach on the cheap. This is one of LWS's biggest arguments, and he is right. All of these things take time to digest.

It's not like Gruden was going to coach the team during the regular season. Other than to alleviate VN's fears that Dooley will be retained and Gruden has turned UT down, the fact that Dooley was not fired today has no bearing on Gruden to UT. The timeline has always been on or before the week after the UK game. I wouldn't be surprised if he's fired before then. I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps his job until then.
