Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Lex's last post sums this up perfectly. Let's not forget that we have a former QB who loves this university and has probably played, and will continue to play, a huge role in this.

Since Dave Hart came aboard, put guys like Bud Ford out to pasture and closed all of the leaks inside the UTAD, nobody has a source to what Dave Hart plans to do. That includes LWS, babyvol, DeerPark, OCI, and Skeeter. They may get fed an occasional tidbit as to the temperature inside the UTAD, but none of them have that surefire source anymore.

Dam you went there huh?

I think it has more to do with ppl being pissed that DD will more than likely finish out the season coaching, and could save his job with wins over weak teams.

People that think Dooley can save his job are living in the land of unicorns and rainbows. That ship has sailed.

If Gruden has agreed to a deal in principle is true like some believe there would have to be a reason/s that Hart hasn't made a statement regarding Dooley right now.

Either there are reasons they believe they can get the buyout reduced, Gruden is still negotiating terms of his MNF and other contracts, or whatever else there may be that the general public has no idea about.

For Hart to remain completely silent despite the raging rumors tells me there's a reason for the silence. What that is could be a number of things. Just because there was no announcement today doesn't mean that things aren't happening. Just have to be patient and things will work themselves
out one way or another. JMO

I have never been under the impression from reading this forum that if DD was still around today it meant Gruden wasnt coming. Beating 4 mediocre at best teams wont change things about DD's fate. I cant believe for a second that if the $ people know Gruden will take the job, they would keep DD around inviting another year of this circus. I am frustrated as I wanted some kind of news today but was never under impression that today was do or die for Gruden

We aren't only working with hiring an ESPN analyst with outside advertising contracts, we are also firing a coach. I cannot imagine the minutia of the details involved....or the drastic changes that accompany the willingness to hire the highest paid coach in college football.

So instead of people posting that, its a done deal?

I don't know anything.

If you say so Shultz. :)
