Just left us at the worst time possible.

And tried to take our recruiting class with him.

He's a swell guy.

P.s. I was always told actions speak louder than words. Guess that's not true as long as Kiffin never said anything bad about us.

That's what made me dislike him. I actually believed him when he said USC was the only place he woulda left us for. Also think Layla absolutely hated Knoxville.

I have not watched the weekly presser until the last 3 weeks, but has Dooley always looked like he wants to be anywhere but at the presser? He just looks completely disinterested during these pressers.

And for a smart guy he never knows numbers, stats or even how many seniors he has starting for him. Seems odd...

Fickle is being nice.

Perhaps. Fact is that the offense has improved. Even the special teams, though I cannot for the life of me understand Palardy's kicking woes. The defense has taken a step back, for sure, but that should have been expected (to a degree), given a new DC and new scheme. It's not the same as plugging in a new RB coach. Honestly, same thing when Georgia went from predominantly 4-3 to 3-4. I suspect this season would have looked better with Wilcox here, but not because he's necessarily a better coach. He simply had a system in place and was in need of more talent/depth to make it work.

Now, I know I'll get labeled as a sunshine pumper. Whatever. I don't really think Dooley is the long-term answer, FWIW. I just think it's funny how quickly the tides turn in this fan base. Wasn't long ago many were praising Sunseri and welcoming the 3-4. Oh, well.

Remember this Gruden "thing" happened exactly like this at Miami as well. "agreed in principle", saw Gruden looking at girlsin south beach, etc, etc..... Then Randy Shannon. Guess no one wants to learn. Do you really believe UT is going to spend 5-6.5 million dollars on just a head coach. Plus his asisstants might want another 500,000-1000000 each. Easy today you want Gruden, but who on here has Gruden money waiting. With Dooleys buyout, plus Gruden and his assistants salaries. That's king to be a total of anywhere from 9-12 million. You want someone else to spend their money, what are you going to contribute.

Buying tickets, concessions, and memorabilia does contribute to that dip****. Ever heard of Alabama? How do you think they're doing financially right now? It's been stated oh so many times how nobody will be writing a $10m check upfront but instead the costs are spread out over time and will easily be covered by the increase in revenue a Gruden would bring. Try to keep-up and understand what your arguing before you post dumb ****. It's getting annoying all you idiots come in here and try to act like you have some fantastic points we nobody has considered yet. Then I have to scroll through 40+ pages to read the few posts/posters I do value.

Volnation: where people root for perpetual mediocrity for the football program in order to tell message board insiders "I told you so!"

Biggest question still remains to me, not what "the insiders" have posted, nor what we believe on either side of the issue...

Why is Hart and the AD office so silent on this issue ? he knows that Volnation (not just this board) is divided. If no change is coming, why not make a public statement. The only conclusion I can come to is "sumpin is up"

Yes, to him, his first year was year 0.

Math has never really been his strong suit.

And, "Year 0" still stands as his best season, in the results column. The difference between 7-5 this season and 6-6 in 2010 would be the difference between playing NCSU and Oregon. Other than that, we would be beating Missouri at home instead of Ole Miss.

Because his job is not to calm the fans down.

No his job is to put UT athletics in the best possible position to succeed and in my opinion he seems hell bent doing everything but that. Seems is a big word too, really it is increasingly obvious even people in the AD do not have a clue as to what he is thinking.
