Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Anyone heard from SBV in the last 24 hours. I'm interested to see if his input has changed at all.

No, my opinion has not changed.

And if you and others have noticed I have not said one word about the timing of things or how they might go down - because I DON"T KNOW. NO ONE DOES.

Everyone on here can choose to believe or listen to whoever they want - that is the beauty of it all - but don't get all pissy when it doesn't work out the way you wanted it to.

As far as Tony B's comments this morning - from a purely operational standpoint, that seems to be the way it's going down - but again, I don't know this.

He is wrong about other things...

I would argue that theres more to the fanbase than guys who make $200,000+, former players, and booster's buddies, but thats not a fact so I cant.

What I can say is this:

When you work your azz off full time all week, struggle day in and day out, go to school full time and raise a family, you take the one free moment you have to root this team and program on and they let you down...its more than not having a life, it is about HAVING A LIFE, as opposed to wasting time hoping and praying good things happen. I think most of the angry ones here fall into the latter...I may be wrong.

In addition to all the things you do that make you so busy, you also have time to read and whine on VN.

I know this is a Gruden thread and everyone will think im crazy but listen. Chip Kelly has to be starting to wonder about if the grass is greener somewhere else. Oregon is by far the second best team in the nation and here they are having to depend on USC and Kiffin to get their act together just to be able to stay in the NC hunt. If Notre Dame beats USC then it wont matter if they go 13-0. The pac 12 is to weak. On the other hand, if he's coaching in the SEC( any school, not just UT) and he wins out, there isn't any discussion on the matter. His team is a lock for the title game. I would much rather have him than Gruden and it would be fun to see Kelly offense against Saban defense. One can only hope though I guess...

His Offense struggled against Au and LSU. Doubt he has much success against Sabans. But in saying that I would pull for Oregon to beat them down but Ala would score at will on Oregon, while Oregon would not.

To cut the ones some slack that said Dooley is gone this week if he loses to USCe, I don't recall them saying it would be made public. Dooley still could have been notified by Hart and both agreed to just finish out the yeaf. Really no need for an interim imo.

So if we eventually get Gruden "the deal was done weeks/months ago, they were just ironing out details before an announcement."

And if we don't get Gruden, "he had agreed to a deal, but by the time Dooley was officially fired, he had other people in his ear or he changed his mind, or financials fell through at the last minute."

Would that be the considered a silent decommit?

This is why you're the only one with an opinion I care to hear.

I love you SBV.

Even though you gave me an infraction once. :p

In addition to all the things you do that make you so busy, you also have time to read and whine on VN.

And you have time to ignore it if you dont like it. No whining here pal, just stating what might be the viewpoint of alot of others "who have no life".

Multitasking. And yes, I can turn off VN. Can you?

You guys both signed up in 2009 and you've posted 4 times as much as him. Just sayin...

People have a right to voice their opinion and be pissed off.

Oh, VolNation, will you ever not take the bait every time a two-bit radio show host decides to dig around the rumor mill?

Of course, I think we all do. It's just, after Basillio's "sources" have been wrong multiple times, does it not signal that maybe he's just completely full of crap?

To clarify then. When you posted that "it is a done deal" and "Gruden will be the next coach," was it a fact that you were reporting or your opinion/belief? There is a big difference between the two.

It was posted earlier that Gruden would announce it tonight on MNF. That's pretty darn public.
