That's b.s. and you know it. No improvement? Look at our OL, Running game, special teams and offense over all. We are a decent defense away from being a very good football team.

That's nice. At what point did the accountability for the worst defense in school history stop being with the head coach? He's the one who made the terrible DC hire and recruited the ultra-slow DB's.

Ok Guys, I rarely post on here but I thought I would share my conversation with an Ex Vol player who stays in touch with what is going on with the program.

Keep in mind that I personally am a wait and see type of guy with rumors and am hesitant to post this but thought I would share none the less.

I Talked with a buddy of mine who played with Peyton Manning at Tennessee and was at the ceremony for Fulmer. He told me that Gruden was at the Alabama game in the presidents box (may already have been reported on here). He also stated that he has a close friend who works at ESPN and he had told him that Gruden has indeed agreed in principal to coach TN. The deal is 6 years for 30 plus million. Tennessee also has to pay ESPN 10 Million to buy out Gruden's contract at ESPN but all has been agreed to in principal but no contract has been signed, that for legal reasons they have to wait till they fire Dooley. I personally won't believe it till It is announced but with the guy who posted the pic of Gruden watching the Vols game on the plane and taking detailed notes there actually may be something to this. Again this is rumor but I trust my friend and thought I would pass on the info. Go Vols

I thought his contract with ESPN ended after this NFL season.

Oh my lord...

They aren't giving their all for our entertainment...they are getting very nice scholarships to get a damn fine, near Ivy League Education. Lets not forget the "education" part of athletics...

I love UT as much as anyone but you're going a bit overboard with this one

Evidently then weren't unfortunately. Which makes me believe it isn't true. Cause NC is loaded with dumbasses.

They had too many dumb@ss on the field so the decision was called back, and upon further review they realized he grew bamboo and didn't coach football. They got the trophy, we got Dooley. Per Rucker $

Interesting... Can anyone confirm Gruden was at the Bama game?? There is way too much smoke for something not to happen.

I now have zero confidence in the Gruden to Tennessee rumors.

Keep the faith. Danielsons comment & the MNF comments last monday have me still believing we are in this. We as fans want instant gratification. Hart is obviously not a common fan. Whether thats good or bad is up for debate.

Dooley recruited Teague and Wagner? News to me. Many here have said Sal was Hart's guy. I agree, in the end it is all on Dooley.

Can't do that. Can't blame precious, it's another person's fault. Most likely the fans.

Not at all. I see improvement in other areas. That being said the win/ loss column is the most important. I just find it funny thy when Kiffin bounced everyone said this is a 4-5 year rebuilding job and now we are 2.5 years in and people say we aren't improving as fast as we should.

I think people realistically expected it to take 4-5 years to be a top 5 program again. We have made no progress to a top 25 program at this point.

So we still have time to meet that expectation. Good deal.

We've lost every game that matters in the past 3 seasons. I don't think ANYBODY said it would take 4-5 years before we ever beat a decent team. I'm pretty sure that's when people thought we would be back in a competitive place in the SEC. We're as far away from that as we were the day Dooley got off the plane in Knoxville.

We are slumming with Vandy for all-time conference futility over a three year period. Bama beat us by the same margin they have the prior two seasons and Florida beat us by more this year. We lost to MSU for the first time in nearly 20 years as well. Do we not hold anyone accountable for the defense?

you win, no one can top that insanity

You've backed up a long way from that "my sources" bull*** you were throwing around over the last few weeks.

Man I am as disgusted as anyone, just not more concerned about being right than the Vols no longer being an embarrassment.

As I said all along, wanting to see DD gone is WAYYYY up the list of priorities over Gruden. I would love to have Gruden, but mostly I want DD gone. A lot of people feel that way, and are just as pissed at me.

I pass along what I hear, and only posted about 10% of that which came from people that have no reason to make things up. I have always said it is fluid and shouldn't be considered one of the better sources like Skeeter and SBV. I am just lucky to hear things from time to time at work. Not looking for "insider" status. I am anything but.

NC state mattered to everyone here before the game was played.
