Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Lol wait until Gruden is not the next HC and Dooley probably stays for another year. At the end of the day, football is just a game.

Here is roughly what Basilio said:

He said that Dooley knows, that Hart is essentially keeping him as the interim coach, that Dooley has a choice to keep his head down and tow the line until the end of the season, or quit (presumably giving up on the payout), and that he thinks that the boosters are going all out with Gruden, but that there is a list with several impressive names on it.

He said that he wished it would happen now for the fans sake, but that everybody should be patient and that good things are happening. He did not hold back on Dooley at all.

If, and that is a big if, he is correct, then it may make sense to let Dooley finish. If they think that they can get Gruden, but not until after MNF, then why pay Dooley to sit on his couch when he can at least run the show until then? Maybe Dooley gets tired of it and quits sooner.

TB is begging for patience. He's reading VN!

It is time for the fans to make your displeasure known. Calling in to radio shows and posting on this message board is not enough. We have to write letters, send emails, make phone calls, to not just Dave Hart, but others in the AD as well. I hate to say it, but send a message by not going Saturday. If there are 40,000 empty seats there, maybe Hart will get the message. Season ticket holders, send a letter saying you will not renew if the status quo remains. We have to do something.

So you are happy with 0-15 in the SEC?

Not at all. I see improvement in other areas. That being said the win/ loss column is the most important. I just find it funny thy when Kiffin bounced everyone said this is a 4-5 year rebuilding job and now we are 2.5 years in and people say we aren't improving as fast as we should.

If you call the Animal, they'll cut you off. Call TSR and vent.

im making gruden signs for troy, i hope dooley looks right at them and hart too, but they might just see me there and a couple troy fans because this fanbase isnt going to support losing, the stands saturday will be empty

Ok. Are you willing to drop 5-6 million on a new head coach?

Derek Dooley is not the one twisting in the wind--it is the Volunteer fan base. It is nice to be appreciated. I am with those that vote with their pocketbooks. Let the dumbarse President and AD see a bunch of gleaming bleachers on Saturdays so we can get their attention.

I am going to the Troy game because of a promise to my son. He is 7, going to his first game. After that, I am done as long as Dooley is here. They can have the tickets we have bought for 19 years. Or maybe I will just sell them to our competitors since they will be worthless here if he stays.

Yes, for the first time I will admit. IDGAF if we win or lose the rest of the way. Hart is not the man many thought he was going to be in this situation it seems.

Today is the first time since the Miss State game that the idea of a Dooley coached team being here to get kicked around in 2013 seems like more than a remote possibility. This AD is completely in a state of disarray.

You've backed up a long way from that "my sources" bull*** you were throwing around over the last few weeks.

By all means. Lets not support the kids who give their all every Saturday for our entertainment. SMH.

Fans are fickle, my friend.

We aren't improving at all. We've started 0-5 in the SEC the past 3 years, and we had the easiest schedule this year of the three.

Not sure. It was a response to a question about the AD.
I'm curious what others thought of it.

Dooley was chuckling/smirking as he was getting up from the interview...who knows what it means...but I'm losing faith...smh

I don't want to start resigning to the notion he will be back...but if so, surely we will have a new DC...but we will lose a ton on offense if guys go pro...so right back into "rebuilding"...crap

I don't see a difference in firing him now or after the season. If we don't get Gruden (or if he's not interested), we still won't be able to pursue any "active" coaches until their season is over anyway. There's still over two months left before NSD, so recruiting will be fine. Hell...Dooley kept his first class pretty much together with like two weeks left. And if it IS Gruden, that's plenty of time to "flip" commitments from other teams.
