Why on earth should we thank him? UT gave him a HUGE opportunity and he has failed. He should thank UT and this fan base for allowing him the HUGE honor of walking the same sidelines General Neyland walked. No sir, I'll not thank him for failing.

Dooley is a grown man and will be just fine. I don't have anything against him personally, but if the OP thinks his thread will temper idiot reactions on this board or facebook or any other social media, he's completely lost it. BTW, that kind of negativity does not affect the program near to the dgree that Dooley apologists think it does. It goes on at every program where there re losing seasons paired with coaching turmoil, and programs survive just fine.

Thank him for effort. Running a clean program for 3 years. Stabilizing the program. Do you realize we have now a great foundation for a "good" coach to come in and make immediate impact. We have great O line, few studs in defense , great WRs and QBs. We lack in shchemes and coaching. Dooley did put it together for next coach to come in and win. Kind of like Zook did for Meyer and yes Meyer did thank him publicly.
Just because you are class act doesn't mean you the man for the job. Dooley = TebowCoach Dooley is a class act and always will be. I just wish we Tennessee fans weren't so blamed impatient. Realistically, three years is not enough time to turn things around, particularly when we are starting more or less from ground zero. Who knows? Maybe in 6 or 7 years with Dooley at the helm, winning a few games that we weren't supposed to win, we could become the team that again leads the SEC in virtually every category. We all wish him the best whatever happens!
Always amusing to see # of posters upset over the required payout if you do not let a coach fulfill the document the university and the coach signed. I believe many need to look up CONTRACT in the dictionary. AD & coach enter into a legal obligation in good faith.
