the most dangerous situation in lattimore's situation is damage to his popliteal artery. a hit to the knee like that with the damage could compromise blood flow, even given collateral blood flow and anastomosis. don't see how he is going to recover from loss of function in his quadriceps.

I'm worried about complications more than anything else. It seems this has been a case of whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

Reminded me of Theismann's and McGahee's injuries. All three sickening to watch. So sorry this happened to him. Prayers for him and his family. Tremendous loss for the Gamecock Nation.

BTW, babyvai how do you know all this regarding the injury? Not questioning but wondering.

Someone in the Gruden thread said it was on a USCe board.

I hope he keeps his leg. Some people are talking crazy about loss of blood flow to the lower leg, etc. Not sure if that is accurate, but goodness I just hope it is surgery, rehab, get better... poor kid.

its bad. probably 7 or 8 orthopods that can fix something like that. duke has nerve transplants, so could be an option.

Gah that's terrible, I hate it for him. Such a good young man. Prayers sent for his health and mental state.

It was said on another thread but it looked very similar to Napoleon McCallum's injury in 1994 when he was with the Raiders. He tore all three ligaments, the meniscus, and damaged his femoral artery. He darn near lost the leg.

Sending all hope and prayer for Lattimore's recovery.

We get so used to seeing these young men walk off huge hits that it is easy to forget just how much they are putting on the line when they suit up and take the field. I am sure they are getting him the best possible care and I hope he can make a full recovery and play the game he loves.

That was a lot of class that the UT team did today by seeing Lattimore off the field . Both teams greeted him at midfield while he was being taken off the field. Many of you may not know what a great person he is off the field. Prayers to him and thanks to those players for that. Good luck for the rest of the season. I am pulling for you.:peace:

That was good to see GC. I cant stand SC but I dont want to see anyone get hurt like that. Ive heard nothing but good things about Lattimore and I pray he can come back from this.

reminded me of napolian mccallums indjury with the raiders..vs niners on monday night in the early 90's...which was threatening to mccallums life...certainly hope a great young man like M. Lat. is able to recover fully....givin his strong faith, i truly beleive a young man like him will succeed in life no matter what...spurrier had similar thoughts after the game, which im sure you all saw and heard as well....god bless you you young man

That is one tough kid. You could see pain in his face, but most anyone else would be screaming at the top of their lungs. I feel terrible for the guy, and hope he is able to recover well. Got to be a ton of surgery to repair that much damage.

broke his femur, on top of a torn ACL/MCL/LCL/PCL and chipped his patella, and sartorius tendon rupture along with pes anserinus tears.

That made me sick reading that....That poor kid, I hope he recovers one day but it will take a lot of therapy and time...I wish him and his family the very best and have no doubt We will see him again one day.
