Has anyone heard any updates on the severity of his injury yet?

I truly hope he is able to overcome this and make it to the next level. College and pros need more guys like him.

That was a lot of class that the UT team did today by seeing Lattimore off the field . Both teams greeted him at midfield while he was being taken off the field. Many of you may not know what a great person he is off the field. Prayers to him and thanks to those players for that. Good luck for the rest of the season. I am pulling for you.:peace:

Absolutely HATE what happened to Marcus and yes it was a great show of respect for him.. You have to remember that some of these guys have known each other for a long time and are friends.. I don't know how close Corey Miller and Marcus were in high school but you know they are still friends.. You hate to see that happen to another player and it's especially tough when he is your friend...

Per Hyams, Spurrier said he feared Lattimore's injury may be career ending. It's a shame to see something like that happen

After the game I had an USCe fan tell me that he had a new found respect for for UT, it's players, & fans after Lattimore's injury today. He said it was a very classy move by everyone to show the amount of concern they did. He said he hoped ML would be able to bounce back & asked what i thought...and being nice said "I hope cause he's one of the best backs in the nation. I love to see him play on Sundays one day." He shook my hand and said "see, that's what i'm talkin about!" Then he asked the question everybody is asking about the coaching situation.

Jay Graham recruited Lattimore and said the hardest part of leaving USC was having to tell Marcus he was going to UT. Lot of respect for ML around the league. Jopefully he'll be able to come back but i honestly fear he'll never play again...

Certainly looked horrible. Career ending was the first thought thru my mind.

Hopefully, it turns out much less serious than it appeared. I wish him the best.

The injury ruined my day worse than our loss. I wish there was some word on his status even if it is inconclusive at this point.

I'll pray for a full and speedy recovery. He's a good guy and super talented.

On facebook, I saw many fans of different teams talk about how classy the UT team was.

I hope Lattimore comes back so he can play for the NFL. It broke my heart to see that.

I watched the hit a couple of times trying to figure out how the injury happened. It looks like the main point of the hit was just a fraction above the knee with some of it hitting the patella itself and pushing it around. It looks an awful lot like this very unlucky spot caused his patella to pop out. A more direct hit to the knee/patella probably wouldn't have been nearly as damaging in most circumstances but tearing away/dislocating the patella is far, far, more damaging in most cases. If you check your own kneecap/patella you'll be able to see that pressing from just above it (or to the sides) will wiggle it around, especially when the leg is straight but not too rigid.

The problem with this injury is that there are few, if any, ways of knocking the patella completely loose (like it looked like on video) without doing both cartilage and tendon damage.

This injury had already depressed me to see on the non-HD stream I watched as it happened but seeing it in HD, it looks so much worse. I really, really, hope and pray Marcus can return from this and that it looks worse than it is -- maybe I saw something else and mistook it. But I'm very worried for him.

Marcus his family, his friends, and his team are in my thoughts. This injury has given me flashbacks to Inky (another great guy) though I don't think Marcus will be crippled. It seems so unfair that stuff like this happens to so many good people.

I'm heartsick.

All the best Marcus. Our thoughts and prayers are behind you.

broke his femur, on top of a torn ACL/MCL/LCL/PCL and chipped his patella, and sartorius tendon rupture along with pes anserinus tears.

That was gawddam awful.

His leg looked like a strand of cooked spaghetti.

I hope he comes back from it. I hope to God. And if not, I hope he had a career insurance policy to set his family up.

Time and chance happenth to them all....

Oh God. :( I expected the tendon tears but a femur break too?! That can be life threatening in certain circumstances. This just keeps getting worse.

Thanks for the update. This is just gut-wrenching.

that showing for Lattimore at midfield is about the
only thing UT fans can be proud of this year...

and was hoping for just a broke leg after I saw the aircast
being placed, not all the ligament damage...

the most dangerous situation in lattimore's situation is damage to his popliteal artery. a hit to the knee like that with the damage could compromise blood flow, even given collateral blood flow and anastomosis. don't see how he is going to recover from loss of function in his quadriceps.

To a player that deserves nothing but the very best, I hope he heals with speed and I hope he makes a full recovery!!!

Damn...what a bummer!
