Will we hear anything monday?

Because we didn't fire Fulmer and Majors after USCe.. Haha good one you clown.

To be fair, firing Majors was an easier decision as his successor was currently on the staff and had proven to win games at UT as a head coach. Firing Fulmer after SCAR could be argued to be one of the worst decisions in UT history, was an embarrassment to the program and bread a loss to Wyoming.

I am not arguing the merits of firing either coach, or Dooley, I am just saying that timing wasn't a good decision 50% of the time it happened. Nor do I think it is appropriate this time either, unless you have the home run hire waiting to accept the job immediately.

he is fired by Monday, but we might not hear it until later...
that way they can start negotiating or finalize the contract...then
I think it will all come out at once, whenever that may be...IMHO

I am on my knees praying we do. After the low attendance at the Troy game they will not be able to afford not to change coaches.

I don't see Dooley getting fired at all. I see him lasting through next season. Especially if he can keep Bray, Patterson and Hunter. I'm not being sarcastic either. We can still win the rest of the season and get a bowl win. 8-5. An improvement. The D is letting is down more than anything else. Dooley will stay.

Not bashing...

Please explain the improvement? If we win out with 8-5 record, then the only improvement is beating Kentucky. We finish near or at the bottom of the SEC East, did not beat a ranked opponent, went to another lack luster bowl game... rinse and repeat. Beating UK is something UT should do every single year. Three years straight starting 0-5 in the SEC is far from improvement. The only thing we won the past three years the East Tennessee division of the SEC (sarcasm). Some say it is Sal’s fault and he should be fired and keep Dooley… Dooley hired him so it falls on his shoulders as much as Sal’s. In three years his coaching turn-over has been HORRIBLE. We had good coaches last year leave for lesser and/or equal jobs last season because they did not want to coach under him. Good coaches are able to surround themselves with other good coaches that basically do the job for him.

Too many fans are settling for mediocrity, and I cannot understand why. Tennessee has the history, tradition, fan-base, facilities, MONEY, etc to bring in the right person for the job. With new blood, in Hart, I believe change is needed and we will see change soon rather than later.

I'm listening in in the call in show on the radio. Dude just said if we win out and get a bowl victory then it's an improvement from last year. But that fans will have mixed opinions. We went 6-6 with no bowl last year. 8-5 no matter how you get there is an improvement. That's how I see it. I don't like that we lose so many SEC games. But in a months time Dooleys SEC win record could add 3 more to the win column. That's a good thing. I don't see Dooley not lasting through the season. The players would possibly give up. But 8-5 is better than last year. We could get retribution over Kentucky in a big way this year.

No. He is not getting fired.

If you can honestly say you believe that then you are way out of tune with reality. We have a worst SEC record the past 2 yrs than anybody, yes even UK. Even Mizzou has as many as we do in just half a season. 2nd straight 0-5 SEC start and another 500+ yards given up on D to a very mediocre at best offense.

Possible 8-5? POSSIBLE? How can you show improvement with a possible?

Well I guess you can't. True you have a point. But it's called speculation. That's all we have at this point. Do you ever discuss football at the beginning of the season without speculating anything?

My point was that IF we go 8-5 then it's an improvement.

Sorry I didn't capitalize IF for people like you. How's your reading comprehension?

Just saying.
