New head coach for our VOLS. Why not go after him? He would recruit better than anyone imaginable and knows more about football management than most. Plus he would get patience from the fans while he builds the program. If we are going to dream- dream big.

I think he has a job.

Anybody know what his role has been in the Gruden saga?

Some say he is part of the group offering buyout and salary money for Gruden. I havent heard that anywhere but here.

He does like Papa Johns though, obv.

Let's see:

1 - He is still playing
2 - He has never recruited the first player
3 - He has never coached the first down of football

Look at other players that have become coaches. How many great players have made good coaches.

Peyton is realistic and knows physically he is approaching the end of his playing career

1. He's said he doesn't want to coach.

2. He may have at least 3 good years left in the NFL. (QB Rating is currently 105, would be the 2nd highest in his career).

3. He said he doesn't want to coach.

There have been a few great players that have been good coaches, but not many.

As for point 2, true, but then again, no first time coach has ever recruited, so kind of a mute point. I will say this though, how many pro-style QBs in HS do you think would love to have Peyton as their QB coach?

I don't know if he has any ambition to coach after he is done playing, but would love to see him give it a shot. With his knowledge of the game, I think he would be a good one.

Lets get someone who has legit chance of making something happen here. Worst possible choice ever.

Recruit better than anyone imaginable? Man, you're hilarious. Peyton will probably go into politics, at least that's what he tells his hairdresser (seriously, I was there right after he left).

Congratulations you just shattered my dreams. :cray:

He specifically said he wouldn't want to coach because the kids would never prepare and practice to his expectations. Peyton is one of the hardest working and most OCD QB's in history. I honestly think when he hangs it up, he may get bored and give it a shot though.

I completely agree. I would just love to see him back here at some point. :)

Patience? These instant fans have no patience, never have. It's their team and they want it NOW. Whoever comes in here better understand that. So better the AD and money donors. Otherwise we'll just be buying out another failed effort.
