He didn't win at La Tech. Has shown nothing in his career that he is head coach material. 4-8 his last year at Tech.

I don't buy DD staying, I only buy us yanking his chain with him needing to do other work to reduce his buyout once he refuses. On that topic I could see Hart being a royal a$$ to all the guys on staff because less money in payouts is a direct reflection on his performance and future.

I'm not clear on what the rumored screaming match and leaked UNC talks is all about though. I tried to find source posts for those topics to understand how bitter things may be but they seem to be ethereal in nature.

It's never a good idea to keep a former coach around. Coaches want to coach and having a backseat former coach in the AD office is a recipe for disaster.

I like Dooley and wished he had gotten the team to do better this year. He has done a good job recruiting and the talent level is much better than when he arrived. Now it's time to get a coach (hopefully Gruden) who can teach these kids how to win.

Dooley might be a great addition to the compliance office.

I want to think if none of this was true, someone would have already made a statement. This has been going on all week and neither party has stepped up and said nothing. I think Gruden will be the next coach and Chaney will coach IHC the rest of the season.

I have a class here at UT taught by a very well connected professor who says that last year Dooley would pipe in crowd noise during away week practices. The noise was so loud that surrounding classrooms (especially amb) could not function. When approached about this by Hart, Dooley literally told him to f*** off. This put Hart in a very awkward position with Cheek and has soured Hart's attitude toward Dooley.

The more I read about Dooley behind the scenes (and Showergate was enough to make me think they are largely true), the more Dooley does truly look like Mike Hamilton's one finger salute to the Vol faithful.

I know it's already been discussed before so I'm not trying to "break" any news. But I just got a text from my dad who VERY well connected with some important people. He has been saying he hasn't heard anything other than internet rumors this whole time
In fact until today, he has been thinking the JG thing was a pipe dream. But he's at a golf tourney today and several affluent boosters and insiders are there. (High society golf tourney)

He just sent me a text that reads

"Solid info. UT offered Gruden 6 million. Peyton involved."

No idea what the Peyton involved part means until I talk to him later, but I swear to you guys, this is as legit as it gets.
