It's never a good idea to keep a former coach around. Coaches want to coach and having a backseat former coach in the AD office is a recipe for disaster.
I like Dooley and wished he had gotten the team to do better this year. He has done a good job recruiting and the talent level is much better than when he arrived. Now it's time to get a coach (hopefully Gruden) who can teach these kids how to win.
This may or may not have been brought up before, so SIAP. I have a class here at UT taught by a very well connected professor who says that last year Dooley would pipe in crowd noise during away week practices. The noise was so loud that surrounding classrooms (especially amb) could not function. When approached about this by Hart, Dooley literally told him to f*** off. This put Hart in a very awkward position with Cheek and has soured Hart's attitude toward Dooley.

DD is HATED in the AD department by all accounts. Why in the hell would they keep him around?
